Clinique High Impact Mascara Review

Clinique High Impact Mascara Claims – High Impact Mascara is multi-benefit mascara that adds maximum volume with definition and length effortlessly! Specially developed brush and formula work together to dramatically thicken lashes while combing for separation! Suitable for all skin types! Kicks up the volume and length of each and every lash for a look that’s lusher, plusher and bolder! Pure deep color only adds to the impact! Wear it once and you’ll feel naked without it!

Clinique mascara brush

How to apply mascara? Begin at lash roots! Wiggle the brush so lashes get between the bristles! To apply to lower lashes, hold the wand vertically! Do not pump the brush in and out of the container as this adds air that can dry out the mascara! To prevent clumping, let the mascara dry between each application!

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Clinique does the best Gift With Promotion sets! Every time I buy Clinique products, I get a bunch of their decent-sized products in a beautiful pouch! Only thing you wouldn’t want to miss is Clinique’s seasonal promotions! Consequently, my Clinique High Impact mascara was a freebie! Originally, full-sized Clinique High Impact mascara comes in an 8g-tube! It retails for £14.50 or Rs 1075 (Indian Rupees) ! What I have is just a 4g-tube, if you observed! Relatively, exact half-sized tube! The bigger version has a silver ring detailing on the rim of the tube whereas the promotional size doesn’t have any! Available in two shades; Black and Black Brown!

Clinique High Impact Mascara

I have decent-sized lashes, so I never understood the hype around mascaras! I am not the one ready to spend a fortune on the most-raved mascara only to know that it doesn’t work for me! Basically, I am too picky and choosy about mascaras! Of course, there are a couple of mascaras I would love to try from Dior and Maybelline! So far, I did try and use brands like Lakme, Oriflame and Clinique! I have to say Oriflame impressed me better compared to Lakme! Oriflame has a long wand, I mean too long! It separates the lashes like nobody’s business! But, the consistency was too runny for me!

I am not sure how Clinique High Impact mascara in Black Brown looks like on application! I normally use Black on a regular basis! All I can say; my eyes are wide as if they are forcibly open! Gives my eyes the desired look! Generally, I apply mascara only to the upper lashes! For more dramatic look, I apply mascara to the lower lashes too! To get hold of inner hair, I angle the brush at the corner! People claim tonnes of generous coats of mascara does the trick! In reality, I would prefer a single coat rather! Sometimes, I feel the formula weighs down my lashes! Other times, I feel its light on lashes! It’s like on-and-off formula! It clumps, but very less compared to other brands! Doesn’t crumble off around your eyes or on to your cheeks like the cheapos do! It doesn’t flake off!

High Impact mascara is a great product that enhances the natural beauty of your lashes and elongates lashes in the most natural way possible! I am happy with the color of this mascara! My naturally long lashes appear longer and dramatic with this! A single coat for daytime and double coat for nights would do for me! It’s easy to apply and much more easier to remove! I do not use eye-makeup remover or any makeup remover as such to get rid of this formula! Just a regular soap or face wash would be enough! The only downside is High Impact is not water-proof formula! Obviously, it means you have to invest in some water-proof mascara for special days!

Clinique products are supposed to be fragrance-free! But, I feel a couple of their products are typically fragrant! For instance, Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief! High Impact doesn’t smell like anything as such! Clinique’s products are supposed to be allergy-tested! I am not sure of the authenticity of the statement, but long back I came across a theory! Seems Clinique tests a product on 100 people! If a single person seems to be allergic to the product, they change the whole formula! We are generally supposed to toss out our mascara in 6 months, but as I said earlier I don’t go by rules! I am using the same mascara since 8 months, still going strong!

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Will I repurchase Clinique High Impact Mascara? Not that I am trying to exaggerate, but once you get used to this you wouldn’t want to branch out! Such is my love towards this! To be honest, I have 5 of the same formula mascaras from Clinique’s promotions! I don’t think I need to invest on mascara at least for a good couple of years! Being a staple, I highly recommend this! Once I get to try Dior Show and Maybelline, I might come back to High Impact! Did you ever want to try Clinique products? Make best use of their seasonal promotions! That is where and when you can get hold of their decent-sized best sellers! Best part, you don’t have to break the bank!

P.S – We all are skeptical trying high end products, especially when the claims are too good to believe! But, I strongly believe this mascara is true to its claims! Kindly use the product at your own discretion! Just because it works for me, doesn’t mean it should work the same way on you! Performance might vary according to the weather conditions, so watch out!

  2. Dear Anamika,

I am yet to try Body Shop’s mascara! So, I cannot comment on that 🙂 Now, Body SHop has launched a waterproof mascara for the first time 🙂 Big & Curvy Mascara…I have seen the makeup artist at the store using this! I have to say I love the way her lashes looked but she already has decent sized lashes 🙂

  3. Dear Ruby,

Yes, the mascara is quite expensive! Why are the people at stores being so snooty? Shame on them! I wish you get a good job soon, dear 🙂

  4. I have seriously never given a thought to Clinique as a makeup brand..For me it has always been skin care..But I never tried it.
After seeing Rati’s cute sample of 3 step skin care, I am give it a try
Maybe after an intial tryst, I’ll venture into Clinique Makeup too.

However, these have been tempting me for quite some time now

  5. You know i saw thet you had written this post and scrolled down to see your beautiful lashes….. :lashes:
The post is great as usual honey… You write entirely too well…. :-*

But the mascara is excruciatingly costly… I can get 2-3 tubes of Maybelline and Colorbar in this price…. :giggle:
I don’t have Clinique in my city… I went once to their counter in Shopper’s stop at Mumbai.. But the same thing, for that kind of money I would be spoilt for choices at the other brands.. 😀 😀

  6. 🙂 I would also want to try this one out. Same as your experience, cheap mascaras took my interest completely off from them, but I hope to get this one coz I really wanna have one good mascara with me.

  7. Mrunmayee,

  9. Jomol,

Pls dont mind my saying, but wat if u dont get the same results as i did? but yes, the cheap mascaras consistency can be quite runny and they crumble off after a while 🙂 having one good mascara shdnt harm u, definitely 🙂
