I am so sorry for my brief absence from IMBB and trust me when I say that I have missed writing these reviews as much as I have missed browsing my favourite site for all that it has to offer every day. Unfortunately, a stomach bug kept me out of the game but I am back! And I have a lovely back-to-IMBB-after-sickness product for you guys today. Brows are definitely the thing at the moment and I love trying out different product for my brows especially because I am not 100% satisfied with mine. I love the versatility of this product and I love that Clinique came out with this new shade that I will be reviewing for you today. Let us get started!

This unique Clinique brow product has something happening at both ends. The box has the standard Clinique print on it which is so cooling to the eyes. This twist up on both ends pencil is made of plastic and has the brow filler on one side and a highlighter to ‘lift’ your brows on the other. They both secure with plastic caps which pull off easily and secure well. I have to mention that this is the first time I have seen a brand showing us that a very little amount of this product goes a long way because on the box they mention “For best results, swivel up to expose the minimum amount of product needed.” Which company does that? They always say use liberally or something, so big props to Clinique!

My experience with the Clinique Instant Lift For Brows in 05 Black Brown:

First off the bat, I love the name of this product where it is not just another brow product but rather it is an Instant Lift for my Brows and I love the idea of it where this product helps me really up my brow game especially if I have just tweezed my brows or had them threaded. Having said that I do need to highlight, just like a box says, that you need to cap the two ends quickly to prevent the product drying out. Let us talk about each side of the pencil now.

The unique thing about the brow filler side of this product is that the product itself comes as a fairly thick pencil as compared to any other brow pencil I have seen. So usually we are told to use a light hand and use soft feather like motion to create the appearance of tiny hairs drawn in but that is not entirely achievable with this end of the pencil. This is not a bad thing at all. This is because usually I am always in a hurry and doing make up well and to have it flatter your face takes forever. My brows are one thing that I do last I often forget to do them! So I have found myself slipping this pencil with a small spoolie in my purse to do it later in the car as it is literally so easy to do your brows with this pencil. You just use the flat end to fill in the gaps in your brows and you do it like you would colour something on paper with a crayon. Then just use a spoolie to brush and shape your brows, which will remove excess product and fix them with a brow gel, like the Wet N Wild brow gel that I have reviewed recently. I love that this takes literally 4 seconds because most of the time I have no patience for soft, gentle, feather like strokes. It’s like one stroke and boom you’re done. Of course I would still tell you to use a light hand because you do not want to make it look like it has been drawn in. You can even tilt the pencil and use the sharp edge if your brows are thin. This glides to easily and lasts forever once it is on.

The other end of the pencil has a wider highlighter that is super easy to use as well. It has a beautiful nude pearlescent effect. The thickness of it is just right to use on your brow bone. I like to use this on the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow and the inner corner of my eyes as well. This too is really smooth during application and the best part is that is smudges really easily with your fingers so you do not need to rely on a brush or any tools at all. The shimmer in it does not feel gritty at all and I love the double use that this one pencil provides. Also this does not show up as something very shiny but rather a soft shimmer which gives a wonderful effect.

• The brow end of the pencil, because of its thickness has to be brushed out with a spoolie after placing product.

Would I repurchase the Clinique Instant Lift for Brows Black Brown ?
I see myself repurchasing this because it is good value for money and so quick to use that it cuts down my time to do my brows by a huge amount as it is just one stroke. No more minutes wasted doing those soft, light handed feathery motions with a thin pencil!

Would I recommend the Clinique Instant Lift for Brows Black Brown ?
Yes I would definitely because they only had three shades so far and now this fourth one is in my opinion perfect for Indian skin tones.
