Clinique Intense Passion Quickliner for Lips Intense Review

Hello everybody!

Seasons greetings to all! Today I am reviewing a lip liner from Clinique. Clinique recently launched new lip liners in twelve beautiful shades, from which I bought the shade Intense Passion. This is a creamy, bright, cherry red shade. Please continue to read to know more about this lip liner.

Product Description:
Silky formula glides on and wears all day. Use it to define the lip line or fill in lips pre-lipstick application. Non-drying formula prevents lipstick from feathering and bleeding. No sharpening required.

How to Use:
• Swivel up only one/eight of the lip liner (pencil does not retract to avoid exposing formula to air, which is drying
• To extend lip colour wear, fill in lips with liner, then follow with lipstick
• Re-cap securely to protect formula

lip liner

This lip liner comes packaged in a sleek, dual coloured pencil which comes in a light, multi-coloured floral cardboard box. The lower half of the pencil is cherry red-coloured (the colour of the shade). The upper half of the pencil and the cap both are silver-grey. This is a self propel mechanical pencil, but non-retractable to prevent from drying.

My Experience with Clinique Intense Passion Quickliner for Lips Intense:

I never fancied using a lip liner; I used to wear a lipstick directly. However I recently have started using lip liners regularly, and cannot think of applying a lipstick without outlining my lips now. My first lip liner was from Revlon and have always bought Revlon lipliners. However, now I have started experimenting by buying lip liners from other brands too.

Intense Passion is a beautiful, creamy, cherry red shade. The colour is intense, has good pigmentation, a satiny texture, and glides on easily. It is not a retractable pencil; this is to protect the lip liner formula from being exposed to air, which may result in drying of the lip liner. I have used a similar lip liner from Revlon too. I feel the disadvantage of non-retractable pencils is that we don’t come to know if the lip liner gets broken. This pretty shade matches with some of my lipsticks. It gives a rich definition to my lips, and prevents lipstick from spreading.

cap and liner

I first outline my lips with this liner and then apply a lipstick. This shade is buildable, depending on the number of swipes. Kindly note in all my swatches, it is only a single swipe. I have used Clinique Long Lasting Blushing Nude Lipstick in the swatches, so you can see the lipliner shade clearly. This liner has a creamy texture, still it does not spread or smudge, but it is not as long lasting as claimed. For the price, I had better expectations.
