Clinique Moisture Surge™ CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Review

Skin tone: Medium to fair, Warm undertones.

Hi girls,

I have another expensive product that has disappointed me. This claims to be a color correcting cream but, for me, it has performed in a different way. I have bought the cream in the shade Medium Deep.

My Experience with Clinique Moisture Surge™ CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

First of all, I bought a shade that is one one tone darker for my skin. It looked ashy on my skin. I find the texture to be slightly sticky. I didn’t feel any coverage and it barely covers my pores. The cc cream does not have an orange tint, enough for me to act like a corrector. Still, I would say it adds a glow and sheen to the skin.

This has the sunscreen element and acts like a naturally healthy skin cover. If you use it sparingly, this could look like you have a naturally glowing skin. Also, this could act as a primer or a base to your foundation. Just for that mild glow on the skin, I don’t think I can wear it alone. It says oil free but, I find it very thick for me, and it needs to be set with a setting powder as well; Else you get 3-4 hours of wear before it starts showing some oily sheen.

Pros of Clinique Moisture Surge™ CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

  • Gives a glow and sheen to the skin.
  • Oil free.
  • Looks natural.
  • Good for day wear.
  • Good for dry skin.
  • SPF30.
  • Like a correcting primer or base for your foundation, in a milder form, unlike an orange corrector.

Cons of Clinique Moisture Surge™ CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

  • No coverage for me.
  • Doesn’t perform well for my pores.
  • I have not seen any color correction when worn alone.
  • I definitely need a foundation over it.
  • I find it slightly sticky.
  • It looks ashy on me, despite being such a darker shade.
  • I feel an urge to use more product in this case.
  • Very expensive.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Clinique Moisture Surge™ CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30?
No, either buy a primer, an orange corrector or another foundation. This can perform in conjunction with your foundation but, it is nothing necessary or brilliant.
