It comes in a double glass jar bottle with a thin plastic cover which has a lid at the top. The cap on the top again is very classy with a big round mirror on the face of it. Application of the cream though doesn’t require any preciseness, but still it’s always good to have a handy mirror around. The screw cap fits in tightly over the big mouthed jar hence can be carried around for travelling )though it is a tad bulky) ; the only flaw being dipping of fingers to take out cream. It is always advisable to carry a spatula so that you keep the cream off bacteria.

My husband got it for me from Paris, but I think in India it retails for approximately 2500.

My Take on Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator:

Well, the first reaction after seeing the cream was sheer disappointment because it says it is meant for dry to very dry skin and I have oily and acne-prone skin. I waited for winters to arrive because during winters, my skin becomes a little dry and since I am on medicines (owing to nasty acne and zits which refuse to leave my face), my skin off late has become very dry and stretchy.

I have been using this cream during night time for the past one month and I can vouch for its efficacy. It is an opaque gel-like cream unlike the original Moisture Surge which is more of a translucent gel.

It feels cool when applied on the face and takes 1-2 minutes to get absorbed into the skin. My skin feels hydrated and supple when I get up in the morning. People have a misconception that oily skinned girls do not need to use a moisturizer, but I would like to clarify that all skin types need hydration. It is a lightweight cream which does not make the skin oily at all; very true to its claims of being rich in hydration. I have used it a couple of times during daytime also and it didn’t make my face oily.

It has also made the texture of my skin better, my skin feels softer and there are lesser break outs which again may be due to the dermatologist’s medicines, but in no way has this gel cream aggravated my existing acne. Also, it didn’t clog my pores nor did it give me any whiteheads/blackheads. Since it is full of moisture and hydration, I don’t know how it will behave on my skin during summers, but for winters, I think I have found my HG moisturizer.

• Lightweight gel-based cream which gets absorbed quickly.
• It is absolutely fragrance free.
• Dermatologically tested, hence won’t cause any allergy.
• Makes skin soft and supple.
• High on hydration and very low on oil, in fact I find it oil free.
• Did not aggravate my existing acne, on the contrary, it helps soothe the lesions.

Cons of Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator:

• Some people may not like the jar packaging. In fact, I use a spatula, I don’t like to dip in my fingers.
• Might be pricey for those who are on a budget.
