I have been using this Clinique under eye cream for a few weeks now. Let’s start with a packaging first. I mean how gorgeous and cheery orange does the tube look. I call it my ‘ happy’ eye cream. I took a bit to figure out how this tube opens. You actually have to’ pop’ the ball on the tube up and then ‘pop’ it back to close it. It’s quite cute and fun. Plus the ball is neither too tight or loose that it is difficult to use. There is also a clear cap to keep the ball clean and hygienic at all time. I absolutely love the packaging. It’s lightweight, easy to carry around and hygienic.

The under eye cream is white in colour. It is thin in texture and spreads evenly on the under eye area. I find it extremely hydrating and nourishing for my dry under eye area. I have a bit of discolouration on my under eyes, I did not find this cream to be very effective in lightening my under eye area but I absolutely lovely how plump and nourished it makes my under eye area look. I guess it is the peptides and caffeine in the cream that helps in giving that extra boost to the under eye area. It is a fragrance free formula and it has never irritated my eyes. It gets absorbed quickly, which makes it ideal for using it right before under eye makeup. It leaves a light residue behind but nothing oily or slippery. It does not interfere with concealer application afterwards. It does not feel heavy and it also has never cause those little bumps on the under eye (that a lot of under eye creams end up causing). I mostly like using it for day time but for night time I prefer a more nourishing treatment.

I would call this more as a lovely maintenance product that a treatment product. If you suffer from dry under eyes area it would be worth a try. But if you are expecting it to diminish your dark eye circles, this may not be for you. It really makes a lot of difference on how your under eye looks – relaxed and nourished. It truly is a ‘prep’ cream before you apply your under eye makeup. You may not have a long term benefits out of it or you may but I find it more of an everyday instant ‘perk me up’ product. It moisturised your under eye area and makes it look more rested. Expecting more than this from this cream would be a long shot. And I don’t find anything wrong with that.

A little goes a long way and you have to use a tiny bit for both the under eyes. I truly enjoy using it and would even repurchase this. My under eyes get really dry sometimes esp after applying concealer. And this has really helped in keeping my under eyes hydrated all day long.

I wouldn’t call it a must have but I’d say it is good to have as an addition to your regular under eye cream.
