My Experience with Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer:

The product comes in a quirky, cute-looking bright blue tub with a white screw cap. Not at all a fan of the tub packaging but I’ve made my peace with it. However, the tub feels very plastic-y and I think for the price tag, it deserves way better. It is bulky and not convenient to carry around. The moisturizer has a light pink tint to it and feels “gel to cream like” in texture. It is fragrance free which is a good thing for me and feels light and smooth on skin. It is also quite easy to blend and gets absorbed easily as well.

Now here’s the deal with this  – my skin fluctuates between normal to oily usually. So, basically this acts as a moisturizer and also a primer to smooth out the skin for a flawless application of foundation. I do not use foundations on a daily basis so I normally stick to powder foundation.

This moisturizes my skin well enough and also gives me a smoother feeling. But after an hour or two, my skin starts to feel sticky and oily which is such a horrible feeling. No amount of powdering helps. When I use this alone when I’m just at home or something, it is the same case, but it does prime and prep the skin well sadly it did not work for my skin. Maybe people with dry skin might like it.

Sad because I was expecting a lot from this one but it was a fail for me. Not recommended for oily skin.

  1. I always wanted to try this one but was waiting for an IMBB review. I have normal-dry skin but would not try it now because humid days are coming. Good review. 🙂
