My Experience with Clinique Pink Chocolate All About Shadow Quad:

Packaging & Product Details:
Clinique All About Shadows Quad comes in a good quality plastic palette which has a metallic, colour-reflective cover and comes in a multi coloured, pleasant looking, cardboard packaging. The palette has four eye shadows and comes with a mirror which has an illustration on how to apply the four eye shadows. Two sponge tip applicators with markings are also provided. All four shades are numbered, with the lightest shade at number 1 and the darkest shade at number4.

Shades:
Pink Chocolate has four shades belonging to the pink colour group. Pink Chocolate, as the name suggests, has two pink and two brown shades which are light, medium and dark and have a matte or shimmery finish.

Shade one is indeed a very light pink, a whitish pink. This shade can be used as a base or highlighter on the brow bone. This shade has very less pigmentation, but the staying power is equally good and long lasting. However, more than one swipe is required to get the effect. I use a brush to apply eye shadows and for this shade I have to apply more than one swipe, especially if applying as a highlighter.

Shade two is a medium brown with a matte finish. I would call it a cocoa or chestnut brown. This shade has good pigmentation. The staying power is also good and one or two swipes are enough to get the effect. This shade can be applied on the entire upper eyelid or only on the outer corners for mix and match effect.

Shade three is a beautiful, shimmery pink and is my favourite shade. This shade can be applied on its own on the entire crease or only on the inner corners for ‘mix and match’ effect. It has good pigmentation, and the staying power is good enough too.

Shade four is a dark brown, with mild sparkles in it. This shade can be used as an eyeliner near the upper eyelashes and the waterline, or for defining the crease. This shade is dark, but can be used as an eyeshadow on its own or mix and match, or for smudging. It has very good pigmentation and is long lasting. If applying as an eyeshadow, one swipe is more than enough. But if using as an eyeliner, you have to apply it more than once with an eyeliner brush.

Please check the shade swipes on my wrist. All the shades on my wrist are just one swipe, except for the lightest shade number one. I have used the sponge tip applicator provided by them for making swipes on my wrist.

Conclusion:
All four shades are very nice and smooth. The variety in shades makes them suitable for daily use, evening outings and special occasions. I first apply my Clinique Superdefense Age Defense Eye Cream SPF 20, and then apply eyeshadow. The texture is soft and does not feel powdery or chalky. It is easy to apply and has good pigmentation except the lightest shade which requires more than one swipe to get the desired effect. These shadows do not sit in the lines, fade or fallout. No burning or irritation. I prefer using an eyeshadow brush, and feel the applicator is not of much use as half the product gets stuck to the sponge tip of the applicator. All four shades of this eye shadow can be easily removed with any eye makeup remover.
