I have always been keen to try lip products from Clinique.  I have already got the lip oil and I thought of trying something else. Today, I will be reviewing Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour+Primer in “Love Pop.” So, let’s have a look:

My Experience with Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer – Love Pop:

Packaging: This Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour+Primer in “Love Pop” comes in a cute and tiny rectangular clear plastic tube with a glossy metallic silver cap. It does look quite stylish. The clear body of the tube makes the shade visible through, making it easy to identify it in the makeup stash. The packaging is so travel friendly yet sturdy. The doe-foot applicator is a sponge-tip that is slightly slanted, providing ease of application.

Color:  The shade “Love Pop” is a super gorgeous bright pinky-mauve shade with warm undertones. This does not contain any shimmers. It is a wearable color and would suit most Indian skin tones. This can be worn on its own or even over a lip pencil or lipstick to add a beautiful shine to your pout.

Pigmentation: This Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour+Primer in “Love Pop” is quite pigmented and adds a good colour payoff and shine when worn on its own. When topped over a lipstick, it gives a high-shine finish that looks absolutely gorgeous. When worn over a lip pencil, it makes the lips look fuller and plumper. The best part about this product is that it is buildable and sheer as per your preference.

Texture: The texture of this baby is super glossy and more like a light syrup. It is pretty light in texture and does not feel super sticky. It has the correct amount of stickiness for it to last a bit long on the lips and yet not irritate them. It is creamy and quite moisturizing and even if you have extremely dry lips, you need not apply any lip balm underneath.

Longevity: The staying power of the Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour+Primer in Love Pop is above average on the lips. It adheres to the lips and stays put for a good 4-5 hours. Since it is a lip lacquer, it does transfer slightly and loses its shine with some snacking. Overall, I would not complain about this feature.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer – Love Pop?
Oh sure! I would recommend this to anyone who loves an opaque lip gloss with a good colour pay-off and super shine. Also, girls who prefer lip glosses over lipsticks should definitely get this one. I don’t think I shall repurchase this again as I just wanted to try out this new concept of a lip colour and primer.
