Every person has a different way of feeling happy or getting high. Well, I get high or feel the kick the moment I enter a store with the intention of picking a new lipstick in the mera wala color. I always admired the lipsticks with unique packaging which Rati reviewed for us during her hauls from overseas. I wasn’t even aware that lipsticks could come in such unique packaging. The amount of knowledge that I gather about the makeup world from IMBB is incomparable. Well, today’s review is about one such uniquely packaged lipstick. When I saw this lipstick I was so excited that I too could contribute a differently styled lipstick to IMBB.

My Experience with Clinique Pop Lip Shadow Cushion Matte Lip Powder Crimson Pop:

I have the Clinique Matte Crimson Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick, which was on the verge of reaching the tip as I used it so much. I went to the Clinique store to get my stock refilled and noticed these unique set of lipsticks in the store. Strangely, I found a lipstick with the name ‘Crimson’. It, though shares the same name, is a little different than the regular lipstick shade.

The SA said that the lipsticks are called lip shadow and have a powdery finish. Though I loved the packaging I was sceptical about the formula but the SA confirmed that these stay longer and feel light. In an experimental mode, I picked this up. The lipstick has two parts: one is a small plastic tube with a white cap and the applicator, which is a sponge with a long silver sleek handle and a transparent cap.

The sponge applicator fits in the tube which has the color and the closure is screw type. The twist helps in picking the color and one can apply it on the lips. The lipstick is extremely light and one does not even feel its presence on the lips. However, one needs to give 2 to 3 coats of the lip color to get the true color on the lips. Though a lip liner is not required as the lipstick does not bleed one can always opt for it.

The applicator tip is a bit pointed and helps in creating a definition. The color is a beautiful rusty red and is definitely suitable for all skin types. The lipstick stays on easily for 4-5 hours with food and drinks. However, the color is still present even after that. The lipstick feels matte when applied but sets to a creamy texture.

One needs to make sure that the lips are well conditioned and not very dry. The lipstick does not transfer much and feels light. I love this unique new formula and will be picking few more shades in future. However, I feel that I would reach out to the lipstick only when I have time at hand as there is a high chance of the sponge applicator wearing out with too much of hard hand when in hurry.
