My Experience with Clinique Pop Matte Icon Pop Lip Colour + Primer:
Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color+Primer in Icon Pop comes in the signature Clinique fresh green card box with detailed description about ingredients and product manufacturing. The square tube is color coordinated with the shade (and finish) of the lip color and each one has a silver cap with Clinique name imprinted on it. The cap shuts tight, making it a lightweight and travel-friendly packaging.
Despite being a matte lip color, the creamy formula glides on easily. The texture is soft and smooth but entirely different than the regular Clinique Pop lip color range. It isn’t moisturising on lips but I never felt my lips go dry even after long-wearing hours of the lip product – a complete winner in every aspect.
“Icon Pop” is a deep, brownish red matte lipstick with warm undertones which goes intense in swipe, depositing a dark lip color effortlessly on the lips. If you are a person like me, you might need to mix it with a lighter shade to make it comfortably wearable at work place. This shade is for every woman – no matter if you are dusky, medium or fair, warm or cool or fall into olive undertone category, Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color+Primer Icon Pop will not disappoint you. It is a winner, a bold glamorous yet matte shade.
It is lightweight in formula and settles to a complete matte finish. The pigmentation is oh so crazy! One swipe and there is intense color payoff on lips. The swatch you see was the first time I touched it and looking at the dark, intense shade, I kept a light hand while swatching it. Also, it goes opaque in one swipe with neat application. Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color+Primer Icon Pop is fragrance free.
The icing on the cake is the longevity and non-transferability of the product. You can wear it for 8-10 hours with small meals and fluid intake with wiping the glass edge. It just fades evenly from the inner side of lip with heavy/greasy meals. It leaves behind a faint red stain on lips.
