How are you all doing? How are you guys keeping yourself cool in this hot summer? I am going crazy and perplexed as the temperature seems to rise every day. I feel like eating and drinking fresh fruits and healthy juices and sipping water every now and then. Another way to keep yourselves cool in this hot climate is by visiting malls and shopping in AC 😛 Well, I just did that and made a huge haul from MAC, Clinique, Inglot, Zara and The Body Shop stores last weekend. I am sure, you all would love this way of keeping yourself cool during this summer 😀 So, I picked up Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color + Primer in the shade Pow Pop. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Experience with Clinique Pop Matte Pow Pop Lip Colour + Primer:
Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer comes in a beautiful matte textured packaging which is the same colour as the lipstick with a silver cap on it. The packaging is classy and looks pretty. The silver cap has Clinique engraved on it, while the colour-coded bottom has the name of the shade printed. The colour of the packaging makes it easily locatable from a stack of lipsticks. I adore it so much and keep going back to the lipstick again and again.
The shade, “Pow Pop” is a maroonish purple colour to be more precise. The colour is quite opaque, and the pigmentation is excellent. A single swipe imparts a good colour payoff to the lips. The shade is suitable for pigmented or dark lips as it conceals them well. Though the colour is matte, I do not feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath. However, I prefer to smoothen out my lips and prep them well by removing the dead skin cells, so that the colour looks even. The lipstick contains shea butter and castor oil, which acts as a primer and helps in an even application. The lipstick is fragrance-free and stays on easily for 4 hours without food and drinks after which it fades off. The lipstick can be removed with any decent makeup remover or wet tissue. However, it does transfer, which I find the case with most of the lipsticks, and I am okay to let go off that feature.
The price is a bit expensive, and most often than not, the lipstick is out of stock. I love the shade as it suits my complexion well. However, since it’s a dark purple colour, it may not suit all the complexions well, so it is advisable to try with a tester before picking up the shade. I would definitely want to pick more shades from this range and try them on.
