My Experience with Cliniqe Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow Black Honey

I love lip oils. I am half way through my Clarins lip oil bottle already. When the Clinique one came in, it was more than a welcome product.

Clinique Pop Oil Lip and Cheek Glow in Black Honey is a liquidy gel like lip oil. It is a bit sticky in texture but feels very light on lips. It is more lightweight and thinner on lips as compared to Clarins Lip oil. The texture is not sticky and feels very hydrating on lips. But it is totally not a product meant for cheeks. You apply it on cheeks and it stays the way it is- neither it settles nor it dries..I mean it is such a bummer in that respect. Imagine a sticky little product just sitting on top of your cheeks…. 😐

The colour Black honey is a warm plum colour. It is exactly the same color as the Clinique’s very famous Black Honey lipstick. I am not the biggest fan of the color though. It goes on glossy and is semi sheer.

The Pop Oil comes packaged in this small transparent glass tube with doe foot applicator. It is a nice convenient packaging. I quite like it.

On lips it is one heck of an effective product. Infact more effective than the Clarins Lip Oil. It genuinely repairs your lips and leaves them kissable soft just with an overnight usage.

This lip oil bleeds and feathers a bit but I mostly use it as a treatment product so I don’t mind it.

I found this product a little half hearted attempt at killing two birds with one stone. They could have just made it a great lip oil. Now you’d expect it to be a cheek product as well but it fails there and leaves you unhappy about it. It comes in various colours. So if you just want a nice tinted lip oil, you should definitley give it a go.

I am not over the moon about this product. I like it but may not pick it up again.
