Product Purchased by IMBB

Hola sundaris! 😀

It gives me immense pleasure to avail an IMBB sponsored product. Today’s review is about Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup. A lipstick and a light foundation/BB Cream are the only makeup products that I use every day. I had read so many positive remarks about this on international blogosphere. Let’s have a look how this foundation works for my skin type.

My Experience with Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup:

Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup Review

First of all, I have Combination-Oily skin that turns Combination-Dry in winter season. My complexion is light-medium, warm skin toned, varies NC25-30 depending upon how am I treating my skin in those days (read how much regular I am to skin care/CTM). I have some pores around the cheeks and nose area, some blemishes and hyperpigmentation too. 😛 Keeping all this in view, I chose this foundation in shade Ivory-06 with the help of online assistant on their official website because I ordered online and got it shipped.

Packaging:
The foundation is enclosed in a regular Clinique color coded card-box, imprinted with all the details about the product and its ingredients. Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup comes in a plastic squeezable bottle with a nozzle dispenser. The cap closes tight and the nozzle dispenser is trouble free as it dispenses controlled amount of foundation. I never had complaints about product wastage with the packaging. It doesn’t leak when kept in a lying position; so you can always carry it while travelling.

Consistency/Texture/Fragrance:
Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup carries ideal consistency that is neither too thick to be troublesome to work with and nor too runny to spill over. The texture is very creamy that helps in easy spreading of the product and flawless blending. The foundation blends easily, with fingers or using a professional brush. With a brush, it gives air brushed and no-makeup look. When blended with fingers, gives a natural look and adds fresh glow to face. I have never used a sponge blender till date. It is fragrance free and dermatologically tested along with Hypoallergenic. In the swatches, I have blended with fingers.

Shade/Coverage/Finish:
Ivory-06 is ideal for fair-light to medium-light skin tones, falling in NC25-30 category. But, the shade will be too light for dusky and a bit dark for very fair skins. For me, I like my foundation to be just half-tone lighter for a healthy glow on face and this is what I really wanted. The finish is semi-matte and very natural looking. Coming to the coverage, one layer gives sheer and the second ones build it to medium coverage. The foundation doesn’t look cakey at all even with 3 layers.

I need a concealer separately for deep blemishes. Now coming to the pre refining claims, the foundation surely minimizes the appearance of pores making them diminish to a great extent. I don’t know if it will shrink them in the longer run. The formula is oil free and light-weight. It doesn’t oxidize at all or sinks into large pores. Dry skins will need a moisturizer underneath or it will enhance dry patches or result in streaky application. The product doesn’t include SPF, so I prefer using a moisturizer with SPF included.

Longevity and Transferability:
After application, luckily it doesn’t transfer to cell phone screens. It doesn’t even need a setting powder initially, but there is no harm in doing so either. The wearing time is pretty good; 6 hours for sure on average. The longevity can actually vary depending on your skin type and the weather. A good primer underneath will make it last for longer. This is an everyday to party wear product with natural finish and medium coverage with the definite benefit that you can skip a primer to reduce the appearance of pores. Suitable for even most sensitive skins for it has never caused me breakout issues.

  2. Clinique foundations have somehow never worked for me coz i never get matched correctly. N then Clinique is very stingy in giving tester for you to be able to try. Im glad you got your colour match – that too while shopping online. I’ll definitely check this out – anything to make those pores look smaller!!
