Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense – Intense Ivy Review

Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense – Intense Ivy Review

Hi Beauties,

During my recent tryst with Blindness (most of you know what I am talking about!!!!)….well, my eyes won in the end. And I prayed to God….please, please…do heal my eyes; and I will stop using all my eye makeup. Well, God answered my prayers and I am extremely thankful; so one fine day…I threw out all my eye makeup (read…donated) and then went SHOPPING!!! Why? Well, you see; I had to buy new eye makeup!!! So that’s my story; and this time around; I made it a point that I buy eye makeup stuff from excellent brands known for providing good quality eye stuff; yes, you see, I was going for quality now rather than quantity.

Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense Ivy

Product Description:

No need to be subtle when it’s now so easy to move into the deepest, most dramatic range. Find all the intensity of a liquid liner in one simple stroke. Silky formula glides on. Stays on all day. Never needs sharpening. “Smoke” with the smudge tip on the opposite end. Ophthalmologist tested. Available in thirteen shades (I saw 8 or 9 at the counter).  Two great ways to wear this: Create a dramatic winged eye look or use it as a long-lasting eyeshadow.

My Experience with Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense – Intense Ivy:

Well, I am not so young now to use a dark black eyeliner, I usually preserve black for kohl purposes. And if truth be known; I have never been the very adventurous kinds.  Simply speaking, I cannot carry those adventurous shades. So, this time, I went in for shades which I will be using the most. I bought the Clinique Quickliner Intense Ivy and Intense Chocolate eyeliners. Clinique has some Quickliners in the non-intense variant as well; however, I found them too non-intense for my already dark eyelids with dark under eye circles, hence I bought these “Intense” variants. The Intense Chocolate Quickliner has already been reviewed on this blog; I will be reviewing the other shade I purchased – Intense Ivy.

The Quickliners were among the first in the release of twist up eyeliners; which are so popular now. There are twist up (stylo design) eyeliners; which, once protruded; do not retract back. And then there are the retractable eyeliners. Clinique Quickliners belong to the first group, that is they do not retract back; so you have to be very careful so as not to twist up too much in one go (Clinique mentions the design is such so that the liner does not get dry in air).

The product comes in the standard floral design cardboard Clinique packaging with all the details on it. The Quickliner has two ends – one end for the liner to come out; and one end has a sponge tip smudger. I have actually found this smudger to be quite useful and very gentle as compared to many other smudgers I have used. Both the ends are covered with a cap.

The shade “Intense Ivy” is a very pretty, dark, mossy green shade; with minute shimmery particles in it. The shimmer is not very obvious and you may see them on closer examination. But it is this shimmer which does not allow the liner to become completely flat and dull. The color is quite dark green, so as to mimic an almost black liner if seen from a distance.

The consistency can be described in one word as “creamy.” It is the creamiest I have used till now. It just glides on the eyelids; without any tug or pull at all. The shimmer does not allow it to become gritty on the skin, in fact, it is soft and smooth, just like butter. However, the creaminess does make it prone to breakage if you twist up more amount of product.

Once applied; it tends to dry out within 30 seconds; hence if you want to smudge it out; you have to be real fast. Smudging this creamy product is easy peasy, but once it sets – it sets. It does not move at all and remains fresh throughout the day (have tested it for 12 hours). However, if you apply it on your waterline, it disappears in 4-5 hours (but then why on earth would you put your eyeliner on your waterline, right????)

Removing this is not very easy; but neither very difficult. It just needs a good-quality eye makeup remover to remove it gently; without any tugging or pulling. There is no smearing or smudging of the liner once it sets and will not wash off with water or with tears.

The only drawback I could find is the tip and they have not included any type of sharpener for this. So, after the first use, the tip gets blunt and will no longer get very thin lines using this.

Now the most important part, it has not irritated my eyes. I have applied it on my upper and lower eyelids and on my water lines; but nope, no kind of irritation or gritty feeling anywhere. It is indeed a HG quality eyeliner.

Yes, if you are looking for really quality eyeliners, these are one of them. The color is very intense; and available in 13 shades. These do not irritate the eyes and remain water and smudge proof for a long time. The liner is very creamy and applies like a dream.  So, if you are looking for very good quality eyeliners for your eyes, though a wee bit expensive; you may definitely try these out.
