To all those girls with oily and acne-prone skin who want to include serum into their regimen, but hesitate due to the heaviness of the serums, I would like to say that Clinique has a product for you. Though this product – Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Damage Corrector is labeled as a treatment potion to reverse damage caused by sun and other factors, I definitely think girls with oily skin can use this as a serum. A little info about the product:
Repair wear laser focus is based on decades of scientific research. It provides high-level peptides to boost the production of natural collagen and a patented enzyme blend that works to mend visible UV damage. Its a combination that produces striking reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles starting in just 4 weeks.
How To Use:
Apply 3 to 4 drops twice a day to face and around eyes. Compatibility with Clinique’s other de-aging regimens allow you to customize your daily routine. For increased prevention, add Superdefense by day and super rescue at night to fight the effects of stress, sun, pollution. For intense repair, a regimen of Youth Surge or Repairwear formulas can achieve meaningful improvement.
Rs. 3250 for 30 ml.
My Take on Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle and UV Damage Corrector:
This white, runny, milky liquid comes in a long, white, strong, opaque glass bottle with a stopper cap with a filler attached to it. The filler has a wide opening and picks up the liquid corrector adequately. At one time, you would get around 4 to 5 drops. Like all Clinique products, though this product has no added fragrance, one can still find that inevitable medicinal fragrance. This product is 100% allergy tested and fragrance free.
Texture wise, its a totally lightweight liquid. I take around 4 drops each on the back of my hand each time and blend it on to my face. It gets quickly absorbed into my skin without leaving any trace of grease, oil, or film behind. This serum thoroughly moisturizes and hydrates my skin without dulling down the skin tone. I find that it makes my skin texture supple. I use it after the cleansing, toning, and moisturizing routine when I am not going out and do not follow up with any other cream or lotion because it gives a certain freshness that remains through most part of the day. It does not make my face to sweat. I haven’t experienced any breakouts. One can wear it throughout the day under foundation or any other cream because it does not feel heavy on the skin.
The best part about this product is that it can be used during both daytime and night and even under the eyes and you can follow up with makeup products later on.
Coming to the effectiveness part, though this is marketed as a damage corrector, I use it as a serum which moisturizes and keeps my skin hydrated and supple. In a few weeks, I have noticed that it has worked on smoothing out the fine lines, I do not have major wrinkles, but I think for age-related wrinkles, this won’t be that effective.
This won’t treat sun burn patches, I have seen little to no effect on them though I religiously applied this on my face twice a day. This serum can be used as an under eye treatment because I have seen that it does take care of puffiness of eyes. What I do find is that my skin is becoming smooth and supple with its use. I have seen that it has brightened my skin tone and added the necessary moisture which acne-clearing ointments had ripped my skin off.
This serum works by providing skin the high level peptides to boost the production of natural collagen and an enzyme that reverses visible UV damage. This serum won’t clear out hyperpigmentation patches.
Using it over a few weeks, I have felt that I have much healthier skin now and there are no major breakouts except a few inevitable ones which scream that I have oily and sensitive skin.
