Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream Review

Hello everyone!

Clinique has come up with a new sunscreen and I had to buy it as I didn’t have any other sunscreen in my stash. I gave it a try and here is the review.

My Experience with Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream:

The sunscreen comes in a cardboard packaging. Within the cardboard packaging is a paper containing all the details about the product. The cardboard packaging and tube itself is all bright yellow in colour. The bright yellow screams of sunny days. The tube is a squeeze tube with a flap lid. The flap lid opens, closes and works very well.

There is no leakage outside the tube so it is easy and convenient to travel with. But one problem is that the sunscreen overflows from the dispenser; it stays within the flap lid though. It kind of accumulates around the opening. I feel gross every time I see it and it needs to be wiped away regularly.

Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream Tube

The lotion itself is slightly thick and cream in colour. Even though the consistency is liquidy, it does not spread as you expect. I feel that it tugs a little. The fragrance smells like any other sunscreen; it does not have a noticeable fragrance. Most of us dread about the white cast the sunscreens leave, especially on the face. This sunscreen is no exception.

It leaves a terrible white cast and it’s even more visible on Indian or darker skin tones. This product has a mineral-based formula, not chemical-based. The advantage of this mineral-based formula is that it provides both UVA and UVB protection. I have dry skin and this sunscreen is not moisturising enough for my skin. So, I need to apply a moisturiser. I do not like the look and feel it creates. Also, the foundation tends to cake up when used over this sunscreen.

Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream Packaging

The product claims to have Soalrsmart+ technology which helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles. I am not sure how well it works in reality. It might show results in the long run but I do not intend to use this sunscreen religiously as it leaves a white cast.

Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream Cap

I have used it a few times and it didn’t cause any breakouts on my sensitive skin. This product is allergy-tested too. Since it offers just SPF 30 – and not 50 – I would not use it when going on a vacation or to the beaches. I would use it when I spend time in the gardens over the weekends.

Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream Swatch

Overall, this is not the best sunscreen for me even though it works well and keeps the skin protected from the sun. It leaves a white cast on the skin, which is a big no-no for me. I have found a much better sunscreen, which I will be reviewing shortly and it comes for a fraction of the price. And, it goes without saying, it does not leave a white cast either. So, stay tuned for that.

Pros of Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream:

• Small, sturdy, strong packaging
• Almost fragrance-free
• Non-oily
• Does not cause breakouts
• Tugs the skin during application
• Solarsmart+ technology claims to defend fine lines and wrinkles

Cons of Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream:

• Not easy to apply
• Leaves a white cast

IMBB Rating: 3/5
Would I Repurchase Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream?
I will not repurchase, mainly because it leaves a white cast.
Would I Recommend Clinique SPF 30 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream?
If you do not mind the white cast and are looking for a very good sunscreen you can go for this one. But I would not recommend it if you are going to a beach or spending the whole day out in the sun.
