My Experience with Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment:
Packaging wise, this ‘Superbalm’, like every other Clinique product, comes in a simple and understated packaging. After trying out some products from this brand, I feel that they aim for seedhi baat, no bakwas policy, which I am a fan of! The tiny tube comes in a simple cardboard outer packaging that has all the details you’ll ever want to know about the product printed over it. The primary and secondary packaging both are light green in color. Nothing OTT here, it’s just a lip balm, after all. The applicator is made of plastic – you squeeze the tube, a little balm comes out, you apply it over your lips and spread with the help of the tube itself, and you are done!
The balm which likes to call itself ‘a SUPERbalm’ is transparent and thick in consistency, but it spreads very well on the lips. It doesn’t wear off on drinking water, but it cannot survive meals. If you are NOT like me and can go without food and water for more than 5-6 hours, I think it’ll still remain on your lips. One thing that makes it amazing is that it actually keeps the lips well moisturised throughout the day. Yes, even after it disappears and all the sheen gets lost! It feels a little sticky, so I don’t apply it right before going out. I use it at home or before going to bed and it feels just alright.
I won’t say it has transformed my lips, has reduced pigmentation or protects them from the sun – but then, it never claimed to do so. It is just a humble, but extremely effective balm for dry, chapped, distressed lips that crave moisture and extra care all the time. As far as its claims are concerned, it fulfils each one of them. But honestly, that isn’t sufficient to make it a SUPER balm, it remains just a balm to me since it does not contain any SPF and it does not repair and lip flaw like pigmentation.
Overall, I would say I love this balm for what all it does! It keeps my lips moisturised, healthy looking and super soft. Also, it makes a great base for super matte lipsticks and they don’t feel dry and patchy after a while. It is not a very innovative product, but we do need product like these since they keep our lips prepped for all our lipsticks and glosses. If you are still looking for a lip balm to heal your lips without promising too much, this could be it! 🙂
Pros of Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment:
• Good, functional packaging
• Super moisturising
• Keeps lips healthy
• True to its claims
• Makes a great base for matte lipsticks
• Good staying power
• Regular usage makes lips look beautiful
Cons of Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment:
• Nothing groundbreaking about it
• Wish it came with an SPF
• Pricey for a lip balm
• A little sticky, but not uncomfortable
4.5/5 (Because it’s true to its claims)
Would I Repurchase Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment?
I think I will buy it again, but only in winters when I need extra moisturization. In other seasons, normal lip balms work great for me.
Would I Recommend Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment?
If you have not been able to find your HG lip balm so far and your lips become extremely dry and chapped, go for it!
Even though the product is 100% true to its claims, it’s not a must-have product for everyone. You’ll definitely love it if your lips get super dry and chapped, especially during winters. It is super moisturising and definitely improves the health of lips with just a few uses.

From my favorite beauty brand – Clinique, it feels good to read another winner product 🙂 Shikha you have reviewed the product so awesomely, all aspects covered 🙂
Thank you Jomol…aapse seekha hai… 🙂
Nice review shikha…. Would try it out definitely
Thanks Arpita…Do try! 🙂
This sounds verry good shikha. I like these lip balms in tube packaging. It’s a little boring but super hygienic. I What you wrote about matte lipsticks is so true. Going in my must try list! 🙂 good review 🙂
Thnk u Rati, you must try. 🙂
The quality seems really amazing but I would not spend 1600/- for a lip balm. I’d better get a MAC lippie with that 😀
I agree Tiya it’s expensive, but a boon for people whose lips get super dry and chapped. Healthy lips can make any lippie look better.
Very few lip balms actually works this well but price is such a sore point! My HG lip balm from Dermalogica works the same and is half it’s price.
