Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer Review
Of all the Clinique products that I got last month, I was most excited about Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer; however, I have mixed feelings about this one. It works in some ways, but then I didn’t get what I was expecting. This Overnight Moisturizer is from the “Turnaround” range, I have reviewed the Clinique Turnaround Instant Facial Masque here. Getting back to the review of this product:
Radiance-making moisture cream reveals brighter, younger-looking skin overnight. Gently clears away the dulling effects of time and sun damage, then supplies nourishing moisture fresh young cells thrive on. Skin feels velvety smooth, looks radiant in the morning and over time. Oil free. For very dry to combination oily skins.
How To Use:
Nightly, after your 3-step routine.
Rs. 3450 for 50 ml.
My Take on Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer:
Like most of the Clinique products, this moisturizer is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, which means there is no added artificial fragrance, but there is a bit of an ointment scent to this product. This very creamy, smooth, slightly thick overnight moisturizer comes in a 50 ml glass jar which is very sturdy and would not break easily. There’s a lid at the mouth of the jar to prevent spillage.
This is an overnight moisturizer and is suitable to be used only at night. It has a bit of a thick texture and hence goes greasy on application; however, it has not given me any acne or pimples in the morning. Only a bit of the cream is needed and it spreads easily over the face. I just ensure that I have thoroughly cleansed face before I apply this moisturizer because I feel if you do not have clean skin, this might not work at all.
With some night creams that I have used before, I have got acne and bumps the next morning, but I did not have any acne sprouts with this one.
Coming to the effectiveness of the overnight radiance moisturizer, I woke up to “touchably” smooth, soft, and velvety skin. I am specifying “touchably” because I couldn’t see much brightening though that should have been the case. This moisturizer does not add any “luminous” texture to the skin, but I felt that my pores were reduced considerably.
Though it does not make the skin very radiant and bright, it does clear out dull skin, which means no flaky skin. The name “Overnight Radiance” is a lot more glamorous, but this moisturizer stops a little bit short of that. I had expected a lot from this product, I got smooth and soft skin, but not “clear” skin, so that leaves me a little disappointed. The effect you “feel” and get is that of good exfoliation. The effect is not long lasting because when I stopped using it for two days, my skin was back to the way it was before.
Now, coming to what this product doesn’t do, it does not brighten or lighten skin tone. It will not clear out acne scars. This moisturizer will not take care of hyperpigmentation or sun burn patches.
Summing up the pros and cons of Overnight Radiance Moisturizer:
Pros of Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer:
- Makes the skin “touchably” soft and smooth.
- Gives skin kind of a velvety finish that you can touch.
- Reduces large pores on the skin.
- Does not cause acne on oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin.
- Clears out dull skin.
- The effect you get is similar to a good exfoliation or cleanup.
Cons of Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer:
- Does not brighten or make skin too radiant – the name Overnight Radiance is too glamorous.
- Does not work on acne scars or blemishes.
- Does not work on hyperpigmentation or sun burns.
- Does have that slight ointment-y scent.
- Very pricey.
- This moisturizer is called “Overnight Radiance,” but this product stops short of its claims.
Will I Repurchase Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer?
Hmmm…..no. This is not a bad product, but its just that I expected a lot more than what it actually does.
