Clinique Uptown Downtown All About Shadow Duo Review

I hope everyone is having a great day! It feels good to be writing again after a week of exams and college work! Today, I will be reviewing Clinique’s All About Shadow Duo in Uptown Downtown. This eyeshadow line has quite a variety of duo combinations, but “Uptown Downtown” looked more fun and girly to me.

Product Description:
The product is supposed to have two shades that are complementary. One is used as the base color while the other is supposed to be used to contour. It claims to be crease and fade resistant. It has also been developed for sensitive eyes and people who wear contacts.

Price:
$20.50 from Macy’s for 1.3g/0.04 oz.

Directions For Use:
Apply the pink shade as a base using the sponge-tip applicator that is provided. Then use the darker purple color for contouring your eyes.

My Experience with Clinique Uptown Downtown All About Shadow Duo:

There are two shades in the palette, one a soft pink and the other is a purple, which looked a bit matte to me, but surprisingly, very shimmery. Both the shades are very shimmery and light, but also buildable. The pigmentation isn’t as rich as Lancôme eyeshadows, but I think it’s definitely a close competitor.

Also, the texture is so creamy and nice, it glides on pretty smoothly onto your eyelids. My sister has a different palette from this same line and she wears contact lenses all the time; and she found that her eyes weren’t irritated at all after using this product (thumbs up for those who have sensitive eyes!).

The staying power probably has to be the most amazing feature of this product! It stays on for hours even when worn outdoors. I wore this eye shadow for an outdoor party in my backyard when I went home for the summer, and even though the heat was brutal, the eye shadow managed to stay on the entire day and night when paired with my Urban Decay Primer Potion. I’m sure it will last a few hours, maybe four to six hours without the primer potion, which is still pretty amazing for an eye shadow.

• Colors are buildable as well as blendable.

• Only two shades per palette.

Would I Repurchase Clinique Uptown Downtown All About Shadow Duo?
Yes, I think it’s a really nice eyeshadow duo palette, especially since the staying power is truly amazing. It’s also buildable, so you can keep on packing until you’re satisfied with the color. If you can afford it, Clinique products in general are pretty good because of how they’re developed for acne-prone and sensitive skin.

Would I Repurchase Clinique Uptown Downtown All About Shadow Duo?
No, probably not because I like the Lancôme eye shadows better and I plan on repurchasing more shades, but if you do really have sensitive eyes, this is gold!
