Benefits of Clove Essential Oil

Benefits and uses of clove oil 1

Traditionally, Chinese used cloves for the treatment of hernia, diarrhea and bronchitis. It was also used for intestinal parasites, skin infections, digestive upsets and toothaches. Today, I think using clove oil for toothache is the most widespread use. Clove oil has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. I started using it after a recent toothache episode and there is nothing more I hate than a visit to the dentist. I have had cavities filled as a kid and I vowed never to go back again. Hence, the efforts to evade the doc, thankfully, the toothache went away.

• Bud oil is derived form the flower-buds of S. aromaticum. This is supposedly the best variety of clove oil.
