Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review

Hello beauties!

I am very inspired by the quality and color payoff of Coastal Scents’ eyeshadows. When I last visited their website, I wanted to buy the entire range of Hot Pots, but being a sensible shopper that I am, I controlled myself and planned to go for this palette instead. This Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette is a great way to try out all of their eyeshadows as it has almost all the shades available.

The palette is a matte finish black box which comes in a colorful cardboard box with the name and details of the palette printed over it. The palette inside the box and the box itself were wrapped in a bubble paper and were absolutely intact. The eyeshadows in the palette are distributed in three trays with each tray housing 84 shadows!

My Experience with Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette:

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review2

The best part about this palette is that majority of the shades are available in single Hot Pots and one can buy them once the palette ones are exhausted. I am going to review this palette in detail with my motive being that this should work as a go to and check guide for anyone who wishes to buy eye shadows from Coastal Scents. So, let’s get started.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review4

I have divided each tray into 4 parts. Let’s get started with the topmost left hand side corner of the first tray.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review5

1. Vanila Sky – A soft silky, cream hue with a satin finish. This one is a soft off white color. Great pigmentation.

2. Lemon Chiffon – A satin, creamy-white hue with a hint of yellow. A white color with warm hint of yellow. Great pigmentation and buildable.

3. Sunbeam – An alluring, pastel yellow with a matte finish. A pale pastel yellow which I feel is a bit chalky.

4. Citron – A delightful yellow shade with a shimmery finish. Very close to golden and has pretty shimmery finish. Amazing pigmentation.

5. Electric Pineapple – A jolt of bright yellow with a matte finish. Pigmentation is ok but the color can be built up.

6. Bahama Mama – A burst of yellow-orange with a shimmer finish. This one is an absolute LOVE. Shimmery yellowish orange. Crazy pigmentation.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review6

7. Polished Ivory – A soft, refined ivory hue with a satin finish. Has a silvery shimmery finish to it. Great pigmentation.

8. Solar Flare – A blaze of vibrant yellow with a satin finish. More of a gold color. Again crazy pigmentation.

9. Pale Daffodil – A sheer wash of golden yellow with a satin finish. Crazy pigmentation. The finishing resembles to those of foil eyeshadows.

10. Sunflower Petal – A soft yellow hue with a matte finish. I think this one is a miss. Very chalky and dry.

11. Cantaloupe Slice – A delicate, pastel orange hue with a matte finish. Looks more like an ochre yellow color. Pigmentation is ok.

12. Phoenix Sun – A vivid orange blaze with a shimmery finish. LOVE LOVE LOVE this one. Such a pretty rust color. Extremely pigmented trust me.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review7

13. Orange Mousse – A whipped, pastel orange hue with a matte finish. A complete miss match of name. This in no way looks like orange. I think this one is again close to being darker ochre yellow. A little dry though.

14. Champagne Orange – A soft, bubbly orange hue with a satin finish. This one is more like a silver with orange base. Great pigmentation.

15. Mimosa – A delightful, golden-orange hue with a satin finish. Amazing pigmentation and smooth shimmery finish.

16. Miss Marigold – A pop of orangey-yellow with a stunning shimmer finish. More of an orangy gold with amazing pigmentation. Just love this one.

17. Marmalade – A lush orange hue with a matte finish. A miss again. Very dry and chalky and needs multiple applications to get the right shade.

18. Fireside – A glowing red hue with silver sparks. It’s more of rusty red and I don’t seem to find any silver sparks but yes it has good pigmentation.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review8

19. Golden Buttercup – A delicate, golden-yellow hue with a shimmer finish. Crazy pigmentation and amazing smooth finish.

20. Autumn Sun – A rich, dark golden-yellow hue with a shimmer finish. Crazily pigmented.

21. Dreamscile – A frosty orange hue with a shimmer finish. I would say a pretty Coral with a strong silver undertone. Extreme pigmentation and smooth finishing. Again one of my favorites from the lot.

22. Orange Crush – A bold splash of orange with a matte finish. Something is terribly wrong with their extreme matte shades. I find them dry, chalky and difficult to build the color.

23. Fire Glow – A shimmering burst of orangey-red. A crazy looking dark coral with shimmer. Love again. You will love the pigmentation.

24. Coral Blossom – A vibrant coral hue with a satin finish. This one is a Pink with silver undertones. Very good pigmentation.

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette Review9

Pros:

• Nice warm colors.

Cons:

• Some shades are thorough miss.
