Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette Review

By Porshia Mitra

Hello Lovely Ladies,

This is my first post on IMBB. I’ve been a silent reader for a long time now. Finally, I have decided to muster up the courage to write about something here. Feeling both happy and nervous at the same time! Today I’ll be reviewing the Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette. My thoughts on Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette:

Now coming to my thoughts on the product, I just cannot find anything wrong with it! The palette comes in a beautifully designed cardboard box. The palette itself is the signature Coastal Scents matte black palette. It looks so sturdy and chic. I love to hold it in my hands! It has got a mirror as big as the palette which is a major plus point. The palette is magnetic. It can be used to store other hot pots too.

The colors in this palette are absolutely gorgeous suitable for every special occasion. It would especially look fabulous with ethnic wear. The colors are mostly metallic with a few shimmers and one matte shadow. Most of the eye shadows have a beautiful velvety texture and are amazingly pigmented. They are super blendable too!

A Detailed Look:

Let’s get into details of each shadow one by one. The swatches are of one swipe and blended out with a light hand without any base underneath.

Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette Swatches

Hot Pot # M004 Chamois Nude: A basic matte, neutral hue.

This is a perfect matte highlight color. I use it almost every day. It’s just 1-2 shades lighter than my skin tone and makes my eyes look brighter but with a pretty natural look as it is very matte and has a sheer application.

Hot Pot # ME003 Bright Copper: A metallic copper hue that delivers a metallic shimmer finish.

This velvety shadow is true to its name. It has a really bright pinkish copper color with metallic finish. It can be used both as a crease color or a lid color if applied with a light hand.

Hot Pot # ME001 Dark Golden Olive: A shimmering, deep green hue with iridescent golden sparks.

This color looks somewhat different than that given in their website. This is a highly pigmented crease color. It is an olive color with subtle golden shimmers in it but nothing too dramatic. I use it to line my eyes too.

Hot Pot # ME017 Light Apricot: It’s a shimmering peachy neutral shade.

It’s a beautiful metallic peachy sort of color. It looks gorgeous as an all over lid color. I use it as a shimmer highlight color on special occasions. When blended out it gives a pearly sheen to the skin.

Hot Pot # ME009 Kiwi Green: A deep green hue with golden iridescence and a metallic shimmer finish.

This is my most favorite color in this palette (or in any other for that matter). It’s an absolutely gorgeous metallic green with a hint of gold. It is quite difficult to capture its true color on the camera. It has an ultimate velvety feel to it. I just love its texture. Even when I am not using this eye shadow, I get this strong urge to swipe my finger over it whenever I open the palette 😛

Hot Pot # ME026 Deep Cantaloupe: A warm, orange-gold hue with a shimmery finish.

This metallic pumpkin color would dazzle up any eye. It’s a perfect color for any ethnic wear. This goes as a very very rich golden color on my lids. It works well with every color in this palette too!

Coastal Scents hot pot deep cantaloupe

Hot Pot # S014 Regalia Purple: A deep frosted grape hue with a shimmer finish

This a beautiful purple shade with tiny silver particles. The shimmer is not at all chunky and gives a subtle silver sheen to the color when blended out. It goes beautifully with the color above (Hot Pot # ME026 Deep Cantaloupe). It gives a beautiful purple smokey eyes effect.

Hot Pot # S017 American Rose: A classic, deep red hue with a shimmer finish.

This color is not as velvety as the others and I find it a bit difficult to blend it out. Nonetheless it is an amazing bridal red-pink shade with very very little shimmer. It looks almost matt when swiped.

Hot Pot # S030 Cherry Chocolate: A rich, reddish-brown hue with a satiny finish.

Amazing for creating smokey eyes! It has tiny flecks of gold, which looks gorgeous. It’s so pigmented that one would require an extremely light hand to work with it.

Hot Pot # ME015 Raisin Berry: A stunning maroon hue with a shimmer finish

This is another of my favorites. I love everything about it. The unique burgundy color, the metallic sheen without the shimmer, the satiny feel, everything!

Hot Pot # ME023 New Penny: A true copper hue with a metallic shimmer finish.

It’s a coppery golden color. Amazing pigmentation and texture! It goes wonderfully with all the other colors in the palette. I love to use it when I want a subtle gold effect.

Hot Pot # M023 Gunmetal: A sultry, deep grey with a slight, satiny finish

It’s an almost black shade. It goes on quite sheer but is buildable. It is matte but has a satin finish.

The three metal shades in this palette are quite different from each other. These would liven up any look.

Will I Repurchase Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette?

This would last me a long time. I would definitely want to have another one if I ever run out of it though. I would like to check out some of their other palettes too.

IMBB Rating:

5/5 +

Basically I love this palette. I can play with it for hours 😀 It gives insane pigmentation if applied over a base. Also, it does not crease much even on my oily lids. The shadows are not at all chalky. They have a satin finish as a result of which they have very little fallouts. The quality of the shadows for such a price is insane!!!! The palette has a beautiful mix of matte, metallic and shimmer shades and the colors can be combined with each other to give countless gorgeous looks. This palette is a must have for Indian gals specially, as it would go with most of their ethnic wear.
