Hope you all had a wonderful Janmashtami. For me, I am extremely tired as this week was very hectic and tiring mentally as well as physically. I wish we have only four working days and three days as weekend! The strange thing is everyone agrees on this point, but no one ever implements it 🙂 Anyway, let’s get back to the review. Today, I am going to review Coastal Scents Gel Eyeliner in the shade “Boom Boom.”
I have always had a soft corner for gel liners right from the moment I started using Maybelline’s gel liner. The longevity and finish is fantastic! Also, I feel these are easier to apply than liquid or pencil liners, at least they work better for me. I had heard a lot about Coastal Scents gel liners, so when I got a chance to grab these beauties, I didn’t think for a minute and ordered a couple of them.
Coastal Scents gel liners come in huge variety of colors and are very much in demand due to their reasonable prices and bright shades.
CS gel liners come in small glass tub and contain 3 g of product. The packaging is similar to Maybelline gel liner, but the only difference is the shape of the glass container. The entire ingredient list is mentioned on the outer carton. The lid closes pretty firmly, so its quite travel friendly.
My Experience with Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Boom Boom:
I was highly disappointed with Coastal Scents gel liner because when I received them, they were completely dried! But after researching online, I found a way to revive these dried-up gel liners and now finally they are usable. The texture is quite creamy and pigmentation is good. I apply this using my Inglot’s eyeliner brush and have had no issues. The gel liner takes one minute to set and once set completely, it does not smudge or transfer. I have dry eyelids, so it stays on me forever, until I remove it with a makeup remover. So, staying power is fabulous. The pigmentation is average, nothing spectacular about it. The only problem with these gel liners are that they dry up very fast and its a pain to revive them every now and then.
The shade “Boom Boom” is a gorgeous coppery brown with lovely golden sheen to it! It looks beautiful on eyelids and definitely will suit all skin tones. Its a perfect shade for Indian weddings and functions. You can even use it as an eyeshadow, though I myself have never tried it yet.
Pros of Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Boom Boom:
- Beautiful coppery brown colour.
- Staying power is awesome and stays on my eyelids for 8 to 9 hours easily.
- Does not fade or smudge once it sets.
- Reasonably priced.
- Does not cause any irritation or itching.
Cons of Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Boom Boom:
- Dries out very very fast 🙁
- Not available in India and need to be ordered online.
This is how it looks on me
Do I Recommend Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Boom Boom?
Not really, even though the color is pretty, but the way it dries up is really annoying.
Hope this review was helpful, until tomorrow, take care and stay beautiful!
