Hi Everyone,

My small eyes and equally small eyelids always kept me away from eye makeup :(( I have been practicing a lot this year and have developed some liking/inclination towards eyeshadows. But, I guess I still need to practice a lot before investing in the ones from MAC.

So, I picked up a few, highly-raved Hot Pots from Coastal Scents. These are inexpensive but work really well. Unfortunately, the supporting images and the color description on the Coastal Scents website are not precise. When I googled for the swatches, I came across very few blogs which would show good pictures/true colours of these hot pots. I hope my post helps out some of you, who are looking forward to buy these.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Mineral Oil, Magnesium Stearate, Methylparaben. May Contain: Mica and Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarine Blue, Manganese Violet, Chromium Oxide Greens, FD&C Red No.40 Al Lake, FD&C Yellow No.5 Al Lake, FD&C Blue No.1 Al Lake.

The shades have been labelled based on their make/type. Like, Blush Hot Pots are labelled with the letter B and the eye shadows in different finishes are identified by the following letters: Matte (M) and Satin/Shimmer (S).

Following are the shades that I have:

1. Puce – BO6.

Puce

Color Description:  Deep Pink Salmon.
Finish:  Matte.
Application:  Opaque.

2.  Butter Cup Peach – M10

Color Description:  Soft Orange Beige.

Finish:  Matte.

Application:  Semi sheer.

3.  Deep Sage – MO5.

Deep Sage

Color Description:  Deep Mossy Green.
Finish:  Slight Satin.
Application:  Opaque.

4.  Bronze Peach – BO3

Bronze Peach

Color Description:  Murky Deep Salmon.
Finish:  Matte.
Application:  Opaque.

I think there is just a slight difference in the shades BO3 and BO6

* ps- I have taken up the shade descriptions from the official Coastal Scents website.  I am not very good at describing shades, but the pictures I have provided here in my post are almost the exact colours of actually how these look like in real.

Pros of Coastal Scents Hot Pots:

• The texture of these eye shadows is soft.
• These blend easily.
• These are not powdery or chalky.
• Pigmentation is decent enough and with an eye shadow base/primer, these are fab.
• Available in 102 gorgeous shades, ranging from matte,  sheer and shimmer. Also, the shimmer ones are superbly pigmented.
• At 3.95 dollars each, these are definitely a steal. These often come on sale/discounts too.
• Just very little fallout.
• I order often from Coastal Scents, their shipping and packaging is good.
• You get an empty palette free if you buy 12 hot pots from Coastal Scents :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Cons of Coastal Scents Hot Pots:

The only downside in my opinion would be their availability in India :sidefrown: :sidefrown:

Overall, I like these eye shadows a LOT. I would definitely recommend and I want to own so many more of these :love: :love: :love: :love:

  10. wow these swatches are very helpful nupur..coastal scents is having 40% off on makeup and if you buy 12 hot pots you get the 12 piece magnetic palette free with them :)) but their shipping charges are quite high and thats the only thing stopping me from trying these 🙁
