I was so excited to see this lip butter in Superdrug. This was a new launch last year and only a couple of shades were on offer. This reminds me of Revlon matte lip balms in a jumbo pencil packaging. This “Crimson Velvet” is great for warm skin tones. Read on for more details 🙂
Get the perfect pout! Soft and creamy texture that leaves lips feeling moisturised.
My Experience with Collection 03 Crimson Velvet Work the Colour Matt Lip Butter:
It comes in a chubby pencil format that needs to be twisted up. You get a decent amount of product in it. “Crimson Velvet” is a warm orange shade and wonderful for warm and neutral skin tones. The color is not that bold, even though I layer it up, the color does not become very bold for me.
I wish it was buttery, but it is good enough to glide smoothly on the lips. The color can be built up, in one layer. The color payoff is not that impressive.
It does feel very powdery matte on the lips. The texture is not very moisturizing, but on my normal lips, it is not very drying either.
You might like that this lip butter is not cakey. The staying power is around 3 hours of wear time.
Pros of Collection 03 Crimson Velvet Work the Colour Matt Lip Butter:
- Good warm orange shade.
- Not cakey.
- Lasts well.
- Cute chubby stick.
Cons of Collection 03 Crimson Velvet Work the Colour Matt Lip Butter:
- Could have been buttery.
- Could have been more pigmented.
- Shades are very limited in this chubby stick range.
- Could be drying for some.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Collection 03 Crimson Velvet Work the Colour Matt Lip Butter?
For this price, it’s a good lip butter to own, but don’t expect any buttery smoothness from it.
