I love trying various lip products, especially experimenting with loads of fun, colourful shades! Today I’ll be reviewing a gorgeous lip lacquer from the brand “Collection,” which is the perfect mix of gloss, shimmer and colour. This is the second lip product that I’m reviewing from “Collection” and so far I have not been disappointed.

My Experience with Collection Deluxe Lip Lacquer Dancing Queen:
This lip lacquer is an absolute steal! I got it for only £3.99 and the quality of this is amazing for the price. The outer packaging of this lacquer reminds me a lot of the ColourPop liquid lipsticks and since it’s lightweight and sturdy, it is perfect for travelling. In the tube, the lacquer seems to have quite a purple tone to it but on my lips, it looks more hot pink. The name, dancing queen, is apt for this shade, the shimmer and vibrancy of this shade is gorgeous and perfect for any party or occasion.
Unfortunately, that isn’t replicated onto the lips so much; the product does have quite a sheer pay off, however, one swipe gives off a great shimmery and glossy appearance. The shimmer looks especially great when it hits the light. A trick I use to achieve an opaque finish is to not only layer the product a few times until I get the desired look, but also to use a matching lip liner underneath the product. The lip liner I like to use is the collection lip liner in the shade damson, which I have also written a review on. This not only gives a great boost of colour but also gives the illusion of luscious, plump lips- who wouldn’t say no to that?!
I’m not a great fan of the consistency of this product. It is very sticky and thick so it can be quite difficult to apply on the lips; rather than seamlessly gliding onto the lips, it needs to be spread across. However, I’m a great fan of the doe-foot applicator as I find that it is slightly bigger than an average applicator, which makes the application process easier as you get more product on in one swipe and it is easier to spread the product across the lips more evenly.
Furthermore, the pointed tip makes it easier to get into the corners of the lips and allows for more precision. As for the lasting power of this product, I find that it lasts for a good couple of hours if I haven’t been eating or drinking, if I use only the gloss, I find that it does wear away a bit over time, however, colour is much better retained when I have applied more than one coat or used a lipliner underneath. I find eating/drinking can be quite difficult due to the sticky consistency of the lacquer so it can have a tendency to spread a bit, however it is this sticky texture that enables it to last longer on the lips.

- Sheer coverage with one swipe.
- Thick texture, difficult to apply onto lips.
- Feels sticky on lips.
- Product transfer when eating/drinking.

Would I Repurchase Collection Deluxe Lip Lacquer Dancing Queen?
Yes.
Although this lip lacquer has its disadvantages, mainly to do with the consistency of the product, you can’t go wrong for its affordable price and the fact that it looks great on the lips. The collection deluxe lip lacquer range has six shades in total and I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the other shades. Definitely give them a try if you can!
