Around 5-6 years ago, I had a very bad reaction on my face and had severe acne which was worse. When I visited the dermatologist, he advised for chemical peeling treatments and I underwent glycolic and salicylic peel treatments for around 3 months and my skin improved very well! I thanked her with flowers and sweets during the last treatment! I was that happy. Recently, when I visited Italy, I noticed the Pure Actives range from Collistar and this was on my mind for a long time but since it is expensive, I always procrastinated the buy. But, with the IMBB sponsor scheme, I finally decided to buy it and today’s review is all about Collistar Glycolic Acid Perfect Skin Peeling. Read on to know more:

Product Description:
Extracted from sugar cane, glycolic acid is the ingredient most commonly used by dermatologists for peeling treatments. This alpha hydroxy acid frees the surface of the skin from the “dead cells” which prevent it from breathing and slow down cell turnover.
Actions: To make the treatment as effective, tolerable and safe as possible, Collistar Researchers have fine-tuned the glycolic acid concentration and pH and added two more alpha hydroxy acids (mandelic and gluconic acid) to complete and hone the effects. Developed for daily use, it acts an effective, gradual, non-aggressive peeling which renews the skin and helps restore it to perfection.
The peeling is an authentic skin renewal treatment, resulting in:
• A firmer and smoother epidermis
• A pure and bright complexion
• Less visible wrinkles, dark spots and other signs of ageing

Application: Massage several drops gently into perfectly cleansed face and neck once a day (preferably at night), avoiding the eye and lip area. Treatment can be repeated several times a year, leaving at least one month between each cycle.
My Experience with Collistar Glycolic Acid Perfect Skin Peeling:
The Skin Peeling comes in a cardboard package. Inside the package, there is the product and a leaflet with all the necessary instructions. Make sure you read all the instructions thoroughly. The product comes in a transparent, brown glass bottle with a screw cap which also holds the pump. The gold rim on the pump accentuates the simple design. Since it is a glass bottle, be careful when using it. The pump dispenses the liquid effectively without any issues. The packaging is great and I have no complaints.
The product is transparent in color and has a serum-like texture. A patch test is recommended to make sure there are no side effects before starting the treatment. This product is not a regular everyday applicator. The product has to be applied in treatment cycles. Each cycle includes 4 weeks and you can still continue using the product but a month gap is needed in 2 consecutive cycles. Each bottle lasts for 2 cycles. I am almost completing my 3rd-week cycle and I probably will use it when I plan a visit to any location. The smell is very mild and you hardly notice it.
Pure Actives range from Collistar carry active ingredients and come in their purest forms. There are 4 products in this range which includes: Omega 3+ 6 Face oil, Pure Collagen Anti-Wrinkle, Hyaluronic Acid Lifting and Glycolic Acid Peeling. I have my eyes on the Omega 3+6 face oil for the next time!
The product has to be applied to the cleansed face and can be used daily, preferable in the evening/night. You need to warm up 2-3 drops of the serum by rubbing it against the fingers. There is a video on how to apply the serum correctly on YouTube. It has to be applied in straight lines and a suction method with your palms for quicker absorption has to be done.
The product doesn’t cause any irritation on the face. But, it can sting if you apply to any open dry areas or to any open acne. The product is very light weight and there is any residue left on the skin. The product can be used alone or can be followed up with a moisturizer from the same range. I use only the serum. It doesn’t dry the skin and I feel my face has some moisture. However, do not expect any miracle hydration to be provided by the serum.
I am yet to complete treatment cycle, but I started noticing changes within a week of using the product. The first change you notice is how smooth your skin gets. It makes it firm and adds a plumpness to the face. The pore size also starts reducing over usage. The skin tone lightens and there’s a pink healthy glow to the face. The product has also evened out my skin tone. It is a bit harsh near my eye area and since I do not apply there, I see a lot of difference between the two areas. The product didn’t cause any breakouts and also completely reduced a pimple I had in a day and there was no mark too. The product lightens and fades away tiny and light blemishes but for darker ones, I guess a professional help is needed. My fine lines have reduced but I also use another anti-aging cream and I am not sure which one caused the reduction! The product is also claimed to reduce hyperpigmentation.
The skin gets a bit sensitive during the treatment and a few days after, care must be taken when in the treatment cycle. Changing creams can be a problem. A simple exfoliating mask caused me redness. You shouldn’t expose the skin to sun or tanning lamps during and a week after the cycle. So, use a good quality SPF to protect your skin. The product is not meant for sensitive or broken skin. There are chances that it may cause redness.
Using the product results in visible changes on your face and is a perfect remedy for skin renewal at home. With a little care, you can achieve beautiful skin at an affordable price than at the clinic! So, summing up:
