Eyes are considered the window to our soul and they are amongst the 1st things that catch anyone’s attention. I love using eyeliners and kajals. They are among the must-haves for me before leaving my house. They highlight the eyes and make us look refreshed. Whenever I step outside without kajal, people ask if I am okay or whether I am sick. Now you know about the intensity with which I use kajal. Eyeliners are of the same importance. As the wedding season is here and I love shopping, I was in the market looking for a great eyeliner to try (I prefer brush liner, be it gel or liquid). I saw this beautiful little pot of magic, which is a very new launch, and I knew I had to get this one!

Application:
Step 1: Use the brush inside the pack and pick just the right amount of the gel color from the pot.
Step 2: Wipe off any excess on a tissue
Step 3 Using small strokes, glide the brush across the lash line from inner to outer eye corner.

My Experience with Colorbar 001 Pure Black All-Day Waterproof Gel Eyeliner:

I love using gel liners for their finish and durability. The shade of the liner is pure black. The liner came in a big shiny signature box of Colorbar. The liner comes with a brush and the brush doesn’t have a cap. The liner has a matte finish and is smudge proof and waterproof. While looking at the liner on the counter, to show how smudge-free the liner is, the lady put some cleanser on my hand and rubbed it and believe me the liner didn’t even fade a little bit. I tried the same thing again at home and it didn’t fade (yayy!!).

It stays on for a long time, so don’t worry about it getting smudged. To remove the liner from my eyes I used an oil-based cleanser. But you can always use an oil first to remove everything and then wash the face with a good face-wash if you don’t have an oil-based makeup remover. Although a brush came along with the liner, I prefer using my own brush which I use for gel liners. The brush that came along is a nice rounded one which can be used for both thick and thin strokes.

It has a metallic grip and the bristles are very soft and can it be easily used on sensitive skin. I prefer washing my brushes after each use to keep them soft. As for the shade of the liner, it is a good shade of black which can be worn for any occasion. The shade is close to the kohl shade of a kohl kajal and the matt finish gives it a great appearance. The black shade is not a sparkling one hence, it is perfect for formal outfits too.

I even used a bit of the remaining liner on the brush to tightline and on my waterline as well. Hence it can be used in place of kajal as well (win-win). The only problem I had with this liner is that it dried up real quick (ouch). I was disappointed because it is highly priced and then this happened. Although I had a solution for the dried up gel liner – I mixed a drop of almond oil and it was all well again.

It is a good liner (while ignoring the fact that it dried up quickly as this problem can be tackled easily) and gives a great finish. So if you are an eyeliner lover like me and are not on budget, go for it. It is durable and a small pot can be used for a long time. It can be used as a kajal as well.
