Colorbar Brushes : Quick Brush Up

I just wanted to give you a quick update on my colorbar brushes. I have been using them for over 9 months now. And here is how they look. I wash my brushes in aΒ  bowl. you can check my photo tutorial on how I clean my makeup brushes.

The bristles of the colorbar brushes are still intact. Do you see that the foundation brush still looks new as ever. I don’t use the flat eye brush very often. It’s only once in a while if I want a very precise application of lipstick, I tend to pick this brush. Otherwise it just sits pretty in my makeup jar.

See this is what is happening with the colorbar brushes. The handles are cracking. I have not faced this problem even with the local 20 Rs brushes as I am facing with the Colorbar brushes. I don’t wash the handles of my brushes because water tends to swell the wood and when the wood dries, the cracks occur. I just wipe the brush handles with a clean cloth after the bristles of my brushes dry.

More than anything else, I barely use this angled brush so this gets washed once in aΒ  blue moon.

Same with the foundation brush.Β  The cracks are not as severe as the angled brush but they have started to appear.

And this is my Inglot brush , which I purchased around the same time. The bristles are still in perfect condition. It must have gone through zillion washes uptil now but there are absolutely no changes in the condition of the brush.

Any remedies or tip on what I can do to save my brushes. πŸ™ Have you ever faced a similar problem with your makeup brushes?

    1. Two brushes and that too from the same company. Isn’t it weird. That’s what. I have brushes ran going from rs 20 to Rs 1500/-. It’s only colorbar brushes that have started to crack. πŸ™

      Me not liking… :weep:

        1. oh they are working very well!! not creating any problem for me…infact I got another one in olive too πŸ˜€ didnt sting when it went in my eyes too

Radhika gave me this nazar batoo for my blog , I think I need to start using it more often. :cyclops: :cyclops: :cyclops: It will work great for keeping evil spirits away from the blog.

    1. Oh you Poutmati…so you bought this nazar hatao button from TVC shopping for 1999 rs. na…..I knew you used some black magic on me……fell sick for one whole week :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor: :doctor:

  2. oohh..Thats bad.

I have had troubles like this with my art brushes Rati..

I stopped getting the special techniques ones from India and used the local ones for tough jobs..they still do crack..and I just throw em after some time. The bristles remain good though

    1. These brushes are expensive no so I was expecting them to last long. It’s not been an year and they have cracked. Although I do plan to use these but it’s not acceptable. :(( Don’t feel like throwing them away. πŸ™

  3. As for the artist brushes Rati, i would say you peel off the black varnish, them pass a coat of wood varnish to seal them from further damage, and do not soak them or you can just let it go and enjoy your Sigma set πŸ˜‰ 😐 πŸ˜› :-*

    1. I liked Deb’s idea…and maybe you should lay your washed brushes flat on a towel to soak up any water…actually why do you get your brush handles wet at all??? I mean, I just wash the brush part..and the handles never get wet, and I have those chutku handled brushes 😐 😐

  4. Well I hope you dont keep them vertical while drying, the water will seep into the wood….. n I bet nazar lag gayi, sigma brushes ki nazar utarna mat bhulna πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› :silly:

  5. Awwww… The bristles are still so good na???

Maybe it’s what HD said… That lot must be bad..

Am keepin my :fingersxd: :fingersxd: for your Sigma brushes!!!!
