When the entire International cosmetic brands are launching one eyeshadow palette after other, Colorbar silently drops three small smoky palettes in the market with comparatively very less drama and media coverage. A very dear friend of mine has an eyeshadow palette from Colorbar which was a limited edition and as much I tried, I didn’t get my hands on it. So, when I saw these palettes from Colorbar, I had to buy them. Well, I have created more drama than the brand itself, let’s get into the review straight. I picked up two variants – Party All Nite and Hook Me Up. I’ll be reviewing Hook Me Up today. I did not get this variant from store, so I had to buy it online.

My Take on Colorbar Hook Me Up Eyeshadow Palette:
The moment I saw these shades, I had to get them. I love rose golds and pinks and masala kind of shades and the shades from this palette were aptly fitting into the category. To be honest, I liked this palette more that ‘Party All night’. Reason being the color pigmentation is much much better here.
I feel this is a perfect palette for day time to create soft rosy look and with an option to go shimmery as well. The product here is not very creamy not it is too much matte, it is in between of both. It has fallout but lesser compared to other variant.
The packaging is classic Colorbar silver box packaging. There is a cover inside that’s provided for palette protection, with foam kind of texture from inside to prevent scratches. Then, comes the glossy black palette, which is sturdy and of high quality. The actual shadow pots are again protected by a thin plastic sheet ..phew! The palette has a decent-sized mirror but no brush.
I feel this is a perfect palette for day time to create soft rosy look and with an option to go shimmery as well. The product here is not very creamy nor it is too much matte, it is in between. It has fallout but lesser compared to other variant. One thing that I found is that the shadows are not soft to touch, they feel very hard and non-velvety (unlike the ColourPop range). Let’s get into shades one by one:
A primer is a must, else the actual color will not show much:
1. This is an interesting shade, if you see, it looks simple white but it is when you apply it that you can see golden shimmers peeking. Gold doesn’t make it yellowish or pale and that’s the game here. It is an apt color for brow bone highlight, for other areas, I think it’s too white.
2. Now, this is not an impressive texture. I lived the color here but I had to swipe it so many times to get this color to show on my skin. It looks yellow in the palette but is more golden when you apply. It is a shimmer one and has less fall out.
3. This is the shimmer most color in the lot as you can see. It’s or orange-y shade with very high shimmer content in it. In the palette, it definitely doesn’t look orangey. Again, it is not very pigmented and you need multiple swipes to bring out the color.
4. This is a beautiful rose gold color for highlight, inner corners or normal shadow on lids. It is not very creamy. You need to put a good amount of product for the color to show off on skin.
5. This is such a pretty pink and super pigmented as well. It is normal pink with slight mauve undertoned and not ‘bubblegum’ or ‘in your face’ pink. It is a non-matte shade and can be used in multiple ways. It’s not very creamy but creamier then 1-4 and buildable. I haven’t swiped much to get this intensity on my hand swatch.
6. A very nice reddish with orange undertones. Such a perfect summer shade good for both day as well as night times. Creamier then the rest and buildable. I have picked up the product just once here and oh my god look at the intensity!
7. The darkest color of the lot. This is a beautiful masala shade in the palette. Strongest and most impactful in the collection it is creamy and buildable, no fall out and a single swipe does this magic.
This palette has no bothersome smell whatsoever.
