Colorbar I- Glide Eye Pencil in Peacock Throne

Hello Beauties,

My today’s pick is the ‘I-Glide eye liner pencil’ in shade ‘Peacock Throne’. It’s my first eye pencil from ‘Colorbar I glide’. Let’s see how this beautiful shade fared on me.

Product Details:

Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner, the I-Glide Eye Pencil, with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich color in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed.

Special Features:

  • Extremely soft & outstanding smooth formula, almost like a liquid liner
  • Easy to blend shortly after application.
  • Waterproof, Super long wear, No transfer & Smudge- proof

*They have launched 3 new shades in Peacock Throne, Golden Glam & Emerald Charm.

Price: INR 499 for 1.1 gm.

The pencil comes safely packed in an outer shiny steel colored pack, with a color coded portion just at the mouth of the pack, with the shade name written on it too. The pencil’s body is silver colored and its sharpen able, the quality of the pencil is good, the cap is silver in color & tight, the pencil too has a color coded point at the end of the pencil. The pencil looks okay, not very attractive or fancy, but I liked the color coded portion both outside in the pack & on the pencil. Even if you throw the outer pack and have many of these, you can get the desire color without getting confused, as the pencil also have a color coded point.

My Take on Colorbar I- Glide Eye Pencil in Peacock Throne:

Shade: The shade ‘Peacock Throne’ is a bright peacock green color, with a metallic sheen to it, the color isn’t completely matte or neither has silver shimmers in it. I think all the three of the new shades launched have metallic luster in them. I tried comparing the color to ‘Maybelline Kohl in Totally Turquoise’ as I thought the color is very similar, but there is a lot of difference in them, as that was a pure turquoise shade with more sky blue to it, this is a pure peacock green shade. I find the shade really unique and pretty. The shade breaks the monotone of Metallic sky blues, greens, browns or inky blues. This shade would suit fair to medium skin tone beauties, it would look very awesome on cooler skin tones, but the metallic sheen in the color would make it look a little gaudy on darker skin tones. The shade is very wearable for everyday.

Texture & Finish: All of us are familiar with the super creamy and easy gliding formula of these pencils. The texture is as smooth as like a gel or liquid eye liner, or even better. The formula is so creamy, soft and satiny and the application is so easy, without any tugging. The liner gives a glossy or metallic finish line on eyes, it sets after few minutes of application, and you’ll have to be quick for smudging the color effortlessly.

Pigmentation: The liner is very pigmented. It gives the bold line of color in just 1 swipe, but the color is buildable, for more color intensity you can swipe the liner twice. I would suggest prepping your eyes with nice oil free primer and setting it with loose powder, if you’re not applying eyeshadow, as this liner is not great for oily lids, the oil won’t let the color set nicely on skin, the color will transfer whenever to try touching it with fingers and also you’ll not get the bold line in 1 swipe. So I would suggest that those beauties who have oily lids, matt-ify your lids with powder or use a nice neutral eye shadow as a base, to make the color stick on lids for longer.

Staying Power: The pencil has amazing staying power on my combination lids. As I said the color would transfer on oily lids, but if you’ve prep your eyes making it oil free the liner would stay a good for 6-7 hrs without fading or smudging. But if you have the habit of rubbing eyes vigorously, the color from that area will become uneven and hence you’ll have to touch it up. And on waterline the color would stay for 3-4 hrs, the vibrant color would fade in 2-3 hrs, but it won’t spread or smudge. It won’t sting or irritate eyes, it’s completely safe to use in waterline.

Pros of Colorbar I- Glide Eye Pencil in Peacock Throne:

  • A very pretty, unique peacock green color, true to its name.
  • The color will look flattering on fair to medium skin tones.
  • The shade is very wearable and is perfect to wear for parties too.
  • The texture is very smooth, creamy & satiny.
  • Glides very easily on eyes, without tugging.
  • The liner is much pigmented. 1 swipe of the liner would give bold line of color.
  • Staying power is awesome; it stays on me for 6-7 hrs without much fading or smudging. It also stayed good for 3-4 hrs on waterline too.
  • It’s completely safe to use on waterline.
  • The texture is smooth enough to blend the color easily.

Cons of Colorbar I- Glide Eye Pencil in Peacock Throne:

  • The liner needs a clean & oil free base to work admirably and stay on longer easily. So those who have extremely oily lids will have to prep
  • your lids nicely with just puffing loose powder or a matte eye shadow.
  • The price had increased from Rs 399 to 499. I would say Rs 499 is too much for eyeliner.
  • The color wouldn’t suit dark skin tones.

*The camera didn’t pick the green in the color because of too of much of natural light.

Would I Recommend Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil in Peacock Throne?

Yes, I would recommend this pretty, vibrant color to everyone, those who like to play with such popping color can surely go for it.
