Colorbar Kissproof Lipstick Prickly Red Review

Hi girls,

Hope you have been checking out my Kissproof lipstick posts on IMBB. “Wild Peach” and “The Vintage” are for pink lovers, whereas “Be Reddy” and “Prickly Red” are a delight for red lipstick lovers. If at all you love anything matte for your lips, you will love this range of Kissproof lipsticks by Colorbar. I have deeply fallen for the buttery texture of the lipsticks and the way they set to a “kissproof finish” in 15 seconds. The pigments and the intensity of the lipstick is class apart. I can safely say this lipstick is worth INR 995 that we pay for. Overall, there are 12 shades to choose from although some of them might be slightly similar.

My Experience with Colorbar Kissproof Lipstick Prickly Red:

Have you tried lipsticks from Colorbar’s “long wear” range? They come in similar packaging as these Kissproof ones, slim and sleek. These lipsticks are quite similar, but the formula is better than long-wear lipsticks and these also settle to a smudge-proof finish. The tube has a tiny amount of lipstick, but trust me, that’s a potent amount. The lipstick goes on like butter, so smooth and watery and once you give it 15 seconds, it settles into a transfer-proof, matte finish. Yes, this turns into a 95% smudge-proof, kiss-proof and shower-proof lipstick once you wait for it to settle down.

“Prickly Red” is a gorgeous red color – I love it to bits! It will remind you of “Be Reddy” lipstick, but Prickly Red is warmer and leans towards being more orange whereas “Be Reddy” leans towards maroon-pink spectrum. Nevertheless, these two red lipsticks are quite similar. Also, Wild Peach and “The Vintage” are also similar. And here’s lies the drawback – in a range that has only 12 shades, having such overlapping and similar colors is a disadvantage.

The lipstick is so pigmented – one coat is enough, you have to wait for it to set. If you think it is settling between lip lines, then use another coat while smiling, so it fills the lip lines as well. I think it is very matte, but for me, it is comfortable since I love mattes. If you have very dry lips, the dryness might bother you slightly. You might need an oil-based remover to take it off at the end of the day. It will last you 6 plus hours easily.

The lipstick bullet comes off at the base since the fixture inside is not strong, so there are high chances that it may drop off the tube if you twist it up fully. Also, sometimes it does not retract back completely. It is not a big issue, but if you are spending this much on a lipstick, technical faults are the last thing you would expect. Although it has not happened to me with all the lipsticks of the range, I think I should warn you about this, since the lipstick might fall off if kept upside down.
