Colorbar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush Review

Colorbar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush

Hello everybody

I have recently ventured into the world of makeup brushes and realized very late that brushes are indispensable if you want to achieve a flawless look. I thought of trying the drugstore brushes before investing in something like MAC so thought of Colorbar. The brand has recently released an array of colored brushes and this is a foundation brush from that line.

Price: – Rs. 475

Product description: – Smooth and swirl your foundation flawlessly where fingers simply can’t. It’s all about the shape with this zingy orange brush – the idiot-proof cut fits the contours of your face and blends seamlessly for a flattering streak-free coverage.

• The silky smooth, synthetic bristles won’t absorb oils or product, making it the most hygienic way to apply foundation.
• The softly tapered shape also gives the most natural looking coverage possible.
• The no-fail design also works wonders with any kind of liquid product, like face primers, BB Creams and tinted moisturizers.

How to use: – Dot liquid foundation on your face with fingers. Blend well starting from the center of your face and working outwards. Gently clean the brush by washing with mild shampoo and cold water, rinse and leave to air-dry.

My experience with Colorbar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush:

First let’s talk about the packaging. I admire the fact that it comes with its own zip lock pouch so travelling with the brush becomes a lot easier. The brush is white in colour with a black ferrule (learned this word online: P) and orange bristles. Unlike some of the other Colorbar brushes in this range which have scratchy or frayed bristles, this brush has fairly smooth bristles which are densely packed. The brush is slightly tapered which makes it perfect for reaching problem areas like corners of nose etc. The brush blends the foundation very smoothly but leaves some streaks which have to be evened out with fingers or sponge. It gives a very natural finish. The coverage increases slightly when you use a brush instead of your fingers. Unlike some other brushes, this brush does not drink up the foundation which is a good thing. I clean it with baby shampoo and leave it to air dry. It doesn’t shed its bristles when washed which is a great thing. I normally keep the brush in the pouch provided so that it remains dust free. Overall a good brush for beginners which does its job nicely when blending the foundation but you still need to even everything out with fingers or sponge as there are some streaks.

Pros of Colorbar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush:

• Does a nice job of blending the foundation.
• Gives a slightly better coverage than fingers and a very natural finish.
• Good for reaching areas of the face where fingers can’t reach because of tapered bristles.
• Densely packed bristles and very smooth and soft.
• Does not drink up the foundation.
• Fairly easy to clean.
• Can also be used for tinted moisturizers or primers.
• Comes with its own pouch for travelling.

Cons of Colorbar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush:

• Doesn’t provide complete streak free finish. A sponge or fingers have to be used to even out.
• Not as good as other high-end foundation brush but still does a descent job.

I have been using this brush regularly with my foundations and tinted moisturizers and its does a great job for beginners like me.

IMBB rating: 4/5 just because there are better brushes in the market. Otherwise it does a nice job.
