Colorbar Pro Duo Fiber Brush Review

Colorbar Pro Duo Fiber Brush

Price:

1000 INR

I think this is only duo fiber or stippling brush which we fondly call, in the Indian brands cosmetic market.Of course you can buy Mac in India for these duo fiber brushes but Colorbar has dared to venture in to this pro brush category at exorbitant prices. This brush looks like it has been imported, no-not in a good way, then a price tag of “pro” has been put..that is 1000 bucks.I have bought similar brush online (Taiwan made I think) and I have another benchmark brush from BH cosmetics which I am going to compare it with. Then you would know why it is not the best to invest your 1000 rupees into.Yes, many would find this as the only option around for a stippling brush and buy it, but it is not the best in any way.

The duo fiber brush is supposed to give you an air brush foundation finish. The tips of the brush will dot your foundation over the face and make it look like you second skin.this will not cake up your foundation like finger, flat foundation or sponge applicator. Then you can also stipple and buff your makeup into the skin with circular motion with such brushes. This brush has very sparse bristles,is the first thing I notice.

The brush could have had more concentrated bristles. This is slim for me.The Bh cosmetics brush is wider and thicker and hence gives me coverage in no time. The brush has synthetic bristles and the top is kind of plastic-y.Honestly the top of the bristles poke when I stipple and dot the foundation on the cheeks for air brush finish. Then I thought to myself this must be same for all duo fiber brushes and took out my other similar brushes.Surprisingly a brush I bought randomly and the BH cosmetics one did not poke.So yes the tips of this brush could be softer, they may poke slightly.

It will take a long time to cover the face since it on the slim side, it is not so dense. This could be troublesome for some.I wish it were wider. The brush does not shed or bleed color thankfully like the colored pro brush kit.The brush has a superb sturdy handle and it mentions the number and purpose of the brush. No issues with the handle quality or anything. The brush cleans very well on a tissue with cleanser in between uses. The brush does look pro and it is really king size like all the other pro brushes. If you want you could slightly use a blusher too with this one, to give a lighter quick blushed look. Overall a decent duo fiber brush but it on the pricey side, it could have softer  tips and it could be dense and wider. You can try it if you think you have no other options and are willing to pay 1000 bucks for this brush.

L-R Random, Bh cosmetics, Colorbar.See how dense the Colorbar one could be…but it is not.

IMBB rating:

3/5 Nothing great but a good option to check out.I would rate it better if was dense and wide.

  1. this is good enough considering there r not much option in here.. even real techniques one r lesser than this … :-/ .. colorbar is not a drugstore brand anymore 🙁

  2. Vega has a stippling brush, did you know? A decent one too, thicker than the colorbar one. Not the best, not nearly thick enough, but it’s a 3.5 out of 5, as opposed to a 3.

(Like Purva says, I use my colorbar stippling brush as a blush brush – nice sweep of colour there!)

  3. I agree with Arpita here that this brush really looks like Jhaadu to me for removing excessive powder from face. The prices of colorbar brushes are ridiculously high. *headbang* I better buy MAC after adding some more money. 😛
