Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick – Bitten Lily Review

Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick – Bitten Lily Review

Hi All,

I am back on IMBB with the review of a lip color from the brand “Colorbar.” I must confess I am addicted to lipsticks, I wish to have at least one lipstick from each new collection from the affordable brands.  Since the time I saw an array of colors at the Colorbar counter, I wanted to pick up one, but the price point was stopping me. Should I buy a lipstick from Colorbar by paying 750 bucks? Since Colorbar, L’Oreal, Lakme are hiking prices, I took the advantage of online sale and bought this color for myself.  I am more of a matte, semi matte and creme finish lover (that shows up on my pigmented lips and lasts long).  This range already mentions itself as sheer, so I decided on buying a bright/bold color assuming that at least this color will show up on my lips, even though it has a sheer finish.

My Experience with Colorbar Sheer Crème Lust Lipstick – Bitten Lily:

Shade:  Bitten Lily is a blue-based pink/purple. The color is very bright in person, which would suit fair to medium skin tones. Since it has cool tones, it will suit women who have cooler undertones.  If you like wearing bold colors, this can be a shade you could try.  This shade provides an opaque finish in two to three swipes.

Texture:  The color is super creamy, hydrating, lightweight and very comfortable on lips. But because of it being super creamy, it feathers and bleeds. It is terrible when you eat something while you have this lipstick on.  I wore it along with a lip liner, and it performed better that way. To prevent the color from melting inside the tube, it’s better to keep inside a refrigerator.

Longevity:  Since this shade bleeds and feathers, it does not survive meals.  The shine also reduces if you drink a cup of coffee or tea as it easily transfers onto mugs and cups.

Packaging:

Well, I liked the packaging of this collection. It comes in a cylindrical tube which is very lightweight and the cap fits nicely.  It is very convenient to travel with this lipstick without worrying about the cap opening and the bullet getting destroyed. The shape of the bullet is something I personally don’t like. It is not the usual lipstick bullet (but the reason might be the creamy texture).

Cons of Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick – Bitten Lily:

  • The shade doesn’t last long, maximum 2-2.5 hours without meals.
  • Expensive.
  • Feathers/bleeds.
  • Bullet is not of ideal shape.
  • You will need a lip liner with lipsticks from this range.

Would I Repurchase Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick – Bitten Lily?

No, I think I am done with this collection.  It did not wow me, especially at the price it comes.  When we think of Colorbar, we expect the price range to be between 300-550 bucks, but the trend that Lakme and Colorbar are following, I am getting demotivated from buying them.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

Conclusion:

I would recommend using lip pencils if you plan to buy one from this collection. That helps in controlling the feathering up to some extent and also increases the longevity.  Next, I am waiting for some discount on Lakme. I want to buy one from Gloss Stylist lipsticks, what do you suggest?? Kareena’s red lips in the ad are tempting me to try at least one from that range.
