Skin Tone: Medium, NC42, warm undertones
I am so much in love with the concept of eyeshadows coming in stick form, and I cannot have enough of them. From the intense pigmentation to the ease of application, it is a very handy option for women on the go. Today, I am going to review an eyeshadow stick from Colorbar that has been named “Slate.”
INR 850/- for 1.4 gm.
This ultra-modern eyeshadow stick glides like velvet, has feather light application and lasts for 8 hours without creasing, flaking or fading! Applying perfect eyeshadow will no longer be a tricky job with Colorbar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick. Fall in love with this blendable and highly pigmented do-it-all eye-shadow stick, which also doubles up as an eyeliner. Sharpen the tip with a detachable sharpener (attached at the back of the stick) for precise application and use it to shade, define, smoke-up and highlights.
Its velvet powdery, lightweight texture is smudge proof and doesn’t non-transfer on the upper eyelid. Preservative and mineral oil free. Dermatologically and ophthalmologically approved.
My Experience with Colorbar Slate All-Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick:
This eyeshadow stick comes in a silver-colored paper carton with all the details written on the outer packaging. The pencil has a black plastic body with a color-coded base. The base comes off as a sharpener and you can get a sharptip each time for precise application. The pencil has a twist-up mechanism and thankfully twists back completely. The shade name and number are mentioned on the body of the stick and outer carton as well.
The texture is creamy, but it does not melt away on the skin. The pigmentation is awesome and one stroke imparts enough color for it to show up on the eyelids nicely. The sharp tip lets you draw a sharp line (you can use it as an eyeliner) and also you can blend it as an eyeshadow.
This eyeshadow would look pretty for parties and for a night-out, but from the name, I was expecting the shade to be a bit more dark. There is a sheen to the shade and that really adds life to this color. It is a mix of grey and silver, and I like to pair it with black liner to bring out the vibrancy of the shade. It is definitely not an everyday shade, but if you love doing eye makeup, especially for functions, it can become a staple in your routine.
The staying power of this shadow is great as it stayed on my lids without fading or smearing. Once set, the shade does not move or budge at all. Thankfully, the shimmers do no travel all over the face creating mess, even after long hours. I use an oil-based makeup remover to take it off and the shadow comes off without any issue and without the shimmer staying back.
In the EOTD, I have used the shade as an over-all shade and blended the black liner near the lash line. I have black on my waterline, smudged with “Slate” on the lower lash line.
Overall, I like the idea of shadows in a stick form and I am pleased that a lot of brands are coming up with such products these days. This shadow is slightly expensive, but other than that, I have no other complaint.
