Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick: Rhinestone Review

Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick Rhinestone Review

Another lipstick review, I will never get tired of lipsticks. Okay, to give you a little background of this lipstick, this was a recommendation from a friend who moved to the US and every time we spoke, she would lament how she wanted this lipstick, but never bought it.  This is from the new range from Colorbar, those 6 new drop-dead gorgeous shades they came up with in my now-favorite “Soft Touch” range.  These are priced at Rs. 325 and I would pick them up any day in place of the horrid “Velvet Matte” ones.

Pink Lipstick 1

So, as the story goes, if a fellow lipstick addict suggested this one, I would heaven and earth to find it.  I was sure I won’t find it in Chennai and I picked a few up from my Bangalore trip and a few online sites that I don’t usually shop with.  Never mind that, the new shades include Citrine (I own two and this was also a recommendation).  Citrine has been reviewed and is a pure orange.  I would pick this one up any day in place of Obsessed Orange.  The others are Rose Quartz (a deep pink), Rhinestone (a hottish pink), Garnet (deep red), Amethyst (a blue-based mauve), and Amber (a pale peach reviewed already).  All the shades I would say have been thought of well and cater to all color families. The texture and the packaging makes my heart melt.

Pink Lipstick 3

This packaging has a heavy and shiny mirror finish silver. I absolutely love the price point of Rs. 325. The texture is to die for. These are indeed soft touch lipsticks; they feel 100 times smoother than the current Velvet Matte lipsticks.  These are very pigmented, opaque, thick, and crème in finish.

Now, Colorbar has also come up with the new Creme Touch lipstick, which are available only at their stand-alone stores, in Mumbai and Delhi, but I have a feeling they are even better than “Soft Touch,” and priced at just Rs. 350!

Pink Lips 2

The color is a magenta kind of hot pink for me, something I won’t usually wear without much thought. It’s a bright pink and needs to be pulled off on good skin days only for me, but I still think it is a gorgeous deep pink and magenta lovers will like this. I recommend this to fair skin only.

The finish is not matte.  Like you can see, it has an oily sheen to it, something I don’t like.  I personally would blot it to make it matte. The color is absolutely pigmented and goes opaque in one swipe. It lasts easily for four hours and considering how pigmented it is, it barely stains, not even half of what the velvet mattes do.

Last Word:

I recommend Soft Touch lipsticks any day.  These are soft, smooth, and thoughtfully chosen shades I believe.  I own 5 of the 6 new shades, three have been reviewed and I will be reviewing the rest soon.
