Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Today I will be reviewing a lip product from Colorbar and they are colorbar’s chubby lip pencils called take me as I am. These were launched almost 1.5 years back and when launched they were just available in 8 colors. When I saw Rati’s swatches I instantly felt the urge to buy these and so at that time I brought 2 of these, in the shades, Mysterious Nude (006) and Flirtatious Pink (002) and I loved both of them. Few days back while surfing shopping site I came across this new color (new to me) called Pure Coral (010).

Price: When these were launched they were around Rs 700, then the company increased their price to 800 (the price I brought this for) and now when I was checking the colorbar’s site I came to know that they have become more pricey (900 bucks).

Packaging: Take me as I am are chubby pencils which are black in color with a colored base. The color of the base is same as the actually color of the pencil, which makes it easier to pick the required color without much effort. Due to their huge size, they might be difficult to sharp and requires a special large size sharpener. To make this easy the company provides a free sharpener with the pencil. Although the sharpener does help to sharp them and make them ready for reuse, but while doing this a lot of product might get wasted.

Product Description:

Take me as I am lip color is a unique multifunctional product which provides the application of a lipstick combined with the convenience of a pencil in a jumbo crayon design. It is an extra creamy and soft feeling lipstick formula with excellent color pay- off and coverage. Viscous oils and esters create the beautiful shine. Skin conditioning ingredients like Shea butter and Vitamin E further enhance the comfortable wearing properties.

My take on the Colorbar Take Me As I am Lip Color – Pure Coral

Color: As it must be clear from the name Pure Coral, this is a shade of Orange, but it is not exactly a coral. It is a very bright shade of orange with red undertones to it. Unlike the other colors I have, this one has shimmer particles in it. The shimmer is not too big or chunky but as it is gold in color, it is visible.
Pigmentation: The color is heavily pigmented, one swipe of the pencil is sufficient to get a bright beautiful color on the lips. The color is easily buildable, 1 swipe of the color is good for cute and bubbly look whereas 2-3 heavy coats are perfect for a bold look. The color does not look bad even with multiple coats.
Texture: I have had a great experience with the texture of this product (with the previous colors I have), but unfortunately this particular color is not as moisturizing as some of the other colors. I always need to apply a lip balm before using this color otherwise my lips might feel dry. This particular color is not as smooth as some of the other colors. I feel that different colors have different the formulations.

Staying Power: Being a dark color, the color does stay for a little longer as compared to less intense counterparts. The color is transferable (transfers to cups and glasses), which reduces the intensity of the colors every time you eat or drink anything. Even when the color is almost gone, it leaves a tint on the lips. When the color starts to fade, the fine lines on the lips starts to get highlighted, the color easily hides the lines initially, but the fines becomes prominent as the time passes.

Overall, I liked the color, but wasn’t too happy with the formulation (as due to my previous experience, I expected more)

Cons of Colorbar Take Me As I am Lip Color – Pure Coral

• Pricey
• Not as moisturizing as some other colors, requires a lip balm underneath
• Accentuates fine lines, once it starts fading
• Transfers to cups and glasses
• Some product might get wasted while sharpening the pencil

Would I buy Colorbar Take Me As I am Lip Color – Pure Coral?

Not this color, but I might buy the red one from this range.

Do I recommend Colorbar Take Me As I am Lip Color – Pure Coral?

I won’t recommend this particular color, unless you are a fan of bold bright oranges.
