Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss – Opal Orchid Review
There was a time when I used to steer clear from glosses. The main reason was the stickiness and the lesser important reason was poor color payoff. I was happy in my world of lipsticks when super tempting reviews and swatches started making me drool. I thought let me try one from this range and one from that and now I have my share of glosses. The latest addition to the stash is this true gloss from the house of Colorbar in the shade Opal Orchid.

Price:
Rs. 550/- for 3.8 gm.

My Experience with Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss – Opal Orchid:
Though it is tough for me to get over my love for n*de and neutral shades when it comes to makeup, I am venturing into bold and brighter shades these days. On this journey, I found I have very poor collection of mauve/purple/magenta in my stash and being a “bold” shade, I thought why not start with a gloss. Thus I zeroed on this particular shade.
Enough has been said about the pretty packaging of these glosses. You can see for yourself how tempting, sturdy and attractive the tube is. Those who have a tendency to pick up makeup for the love of packaging will definitely have this as a part of their collection. The good thing is they have mentioned the shade name and number on the back of the tube which makes identification easier.
The texture of the lip gloss is smooth and creamy. More than a gloss, I would love to call it as a gel gloss. The non-sticky texture is something that adds to the pros of the lip gloss. The wand glides smoothly on the lips and there is no stretching or pulling. The wand picks up enough product at one go to cover the lips.
The shade is the mauve brother of a vibrant pink gloss, does that make sense? Well you can check the swatch for better understanding. It is bold and bright yet muted at the same time. I love the mix of purple and pink which enhances the glow of the face.
The staying power is good considering it is a gloss. The formula is staining, but the stain gets lightened after a while. The formula is not drying, pretty moisturizing if I may say. It does not highlight dry patches. There is a mild sweet smell to the gloss which is nothing bothersome to the sensitive nose.
Pros of Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss – Opal Orchid:
- Nice shade.
- Smooth texture.
- Affordable.
- Pigmented.
- Non drying.
Cons of Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss – Opal Orchid:
- Stains.
IMBB Rating:
3.8/5
