Today, I am here with the review of Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick in the shade “Addictive Magenta.” Finally, I have got a chance to review a lipstick from the velvet matte range.  I wanted to cover this range earlier, but almost all the shades I liked had been covered.  Finally, I chose the shade “Addictive Magenta.” Read on more details about this shade.

Product Details:

For a rich lip color with a creamy shine, the Velvet Matte Lipstick, available in stunning shades infuses the lips with vibrancy.  Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with Vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvet Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

Packaging:

For the price, I found the packaging to be really attractive and pretty good. It comes in a steel metallic body and a transparent cap, which helps in shade identification. The cap closes with a click and doesn’t come off often.

My Take on Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick- Addictive Magenta:

Shade:  The shade “Addictive Magenta” is a fuchsia/purplish red shade with pink undertones to it, we usually call it “rani pink.” The shade is not a loud shade of magenta; it doesn’t have blue undertones to it, so almost all skin tones can carry this kind of shade and it will enhance the complexion;  a perfect bridal wear shade. Though it’s not a perfect everyday wear shade, especially for office, but it can be worn during day and night time for informal outings and parties.

Texture and Pigmentation:  The velvet matte lipstick is a matte lipstick in true terms, but still creamy and gives a velvety kind of feeling on lips. The finish of this lipstick is truly matte; hence it emphasizes chapped and flaky lips, it’s better to prep your lips by exfoliating. The lipstick doesn’t lack moisturization, but after some time, it starts to feel more dry and matte on lips.  For dry lips, it would be better to top it up with a gloss or lip balm.  But you need not to apply anything if you have normal lips.

The pigmentation of the lipstick is good, it’s awesome; a single swipe gives full color on the lips.  One swipe gives full intensity color, normally what 2-3 swipes would give. It gives an even and opaque coverage on pigmented lips in one swipe, and covers imperfections of lips nicely.

Staying Power:  The lipstick stays on me for 5-6 hours easily with light snacking, and after that, the creamy sheen starts fading off and leaves behind a strong tint, which kind of stays with you forever, which I prefer personally.  This lipstick doesn’t leave your lips bare in one go, but it’s a pain to remove the stain. Actually, I would sat it’s tough to remove the lipstick also, you will need a strong lip makeup remover for that.

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick- Addictive Magenta:

• A very nice muted fuchsia shade, our favorite “rani pink” color.
• Will suit almost every skin tone, enhances complexion.
• Pure matte lipstick, creamy though.
• Moisturises the lips.
• Super pigmented; one swipe gives full color on the lips.
• Stays on for 5-6 hours really long.
• The staining tendency of it can be a pro for those who like stained lips after the lipstick fades away.
• Price is really affordable.
• Packaging is pretty good.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick- Addictive Magenta:

• Being on the matte side emphasizes dry and chapped lips. Needs nicely exfoliated lips before application.
• Dry lip beauties would not feel the hydration.
• Feels a little bit dry after some time.
• The stain it leaves behind is stubborn, really hard to remove.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick- Addictive Magenta?

Yes, I will definitely recommend the shade to everyone, don’t miss this beautiful shade, especially if you’re getting married or have a wedding party to attend.  This is a must-have shade for newly-married girls. I already have 3 of these and will keep on buying the other shades, I think I will never have enough of these lipsticks.
