Today, I am going to share my experience with my first red lipstick.  Well, after hearing a lot about red lipsticks and seeing so many swatches, I too thought to give it a try. Though I am not a fan of red colors, I just wanted to see how it looks on me.  Okay, by now, I had decided that I am going to buy a red lipstick.  Now, the question arose “which one?” Well, as it would be my first red lipstick and I don’t have any idea how it would look on me, I did not want to bother my wallet much. So, I thought to purchase from Lakme Enrich Satin range as its easily available here, but as soon as I reached the shopping mall, I spotted a Colorbar counter which was not there a week ago.  I was excited to try something from Colorbar. So, I asked the SA for red lipstick from Velvet Matte range and found this beautiful red shade.

250 INR for 4.2 gm.

Packaging:

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick comes in a silver transparent packaging. The packaging is very sturdy and the lid shuts properly, so can be easily carried in a makeup bag. There is a color display at the bottom of the lipstick so one can easily identify the shade. The shade name and number are mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick.

About the Shade:

The color “All Fired Up” is a beautiful red with blue undertones.  It doesn’t look patchy and provides matte finish which looks very elegant. This shade is apt for parties and special occasions. Its very hydrating and doesn’t feel heavy on lips. In swatches, I have just applied lipstick without any liner or lip balm underneath.

My Take on Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – All Fired Up:

The Colorbar Velvet Matte is soft and creamy in texture. It has very mild fragrance. It glides very effortlessly without any tugging. Due to its creamy texture, Its doesn’t make your lips dry. But yeah, if you have extremely dry lips then you may need to apply a lip balm underneath. It provides a matte finish and doesn’t settle into fine lines. It’s very much pigmented, hence 1-2 swipes is enough to provide true deep shade.

It doesn’t have tendency to smudge, bleed or transfer and has a decent staying power of 4-5 hours with light meal after which it starts fading leaving tint behind. Overall, its a nice lipstick in affordable price and has got wide shade selection.  I will definitely try out a few more shades from this range.
