I went to the Lifestyle stores for my Karwachauth shopping and I was quite surprised to see some new shades under the Colorbar Velvet Matte range. Needless to say, I picked up a lot of them, and I would be reviewing all of them in the near future. I want to start with a pink shade, which is a classic cool-toned pink, “Glancing Stare.” Read on to find if the lipstick formulation of Velvet Matte range has changed or not, all details below 🙂

My Experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Glancing Stare:
The packaging is exactly the same as the previous ones, I wish they could have added some colourful name labels to it. The bullet shape now matches the “Matte Touch” lipsticks. The lipstick feels the same too as the previous ones.
I do not find them velvety matte at all. In fact, I found this lipstick quite gritty during the first usage. It is slightly glossy, but somehow, it just converts into a lip stain in a bright pink in some time. This has always been a problem with Colorbar lipsticks, they stain a bright pink, no matter what shade you have used.
As a stain, it lasts on me for around 5 hours, but it barely feels like a lipstick. It does not even transfer since it just works like a stain. It feels gritty to apply and then it just feels like an ordinary lipstick. Nothing has changed with them and I am not happy about it at all.
Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Glancing Stare:

- Lasts for hours, just like a stain.

- Nothing has changed in this collection.
- Leaves a bright pink stain soon after application.
- Feels like a stain, not like a lipstick.
- Feels gritty on application initially.
- You might have to drag it a bit initially.
Would I Repurchase Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Glancing Stare?
I have bought a few new shades from this range, so hoping for the best. Otherwise, I am not recommending this to anyone, especially those who hate the pink stain it deposits (if you have experienced that particular pink stain it deposits).
