If you have checked my posts on “Glancing Stare” and “Raise Ur Glass” lipsticks, you would know that I have picked up many shades from the Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick range. This shade, “Stay True,” is a plum-pink color that caught my attention. I would like to say that these new velvet matte lipsticks are nothing extraordinary, but for the vast color selection, you can check them out.
Get the velvety matte lips you always dreamt of with Colorbar’s Velvet Matte Lipstick. It keeps the lips moist but with a matte effect and stays on for long hours. The smooth and creamy colorbar matte lipstick is enriched with Vitamin E to protect and care for your lips. It stays for 8 hours without budging, feathering or bleeding. Just a stroke of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick is enough as it is highly pigmented. Now, Care for your lips with style! Makes your lips look full and lush instantly. It is so intensely pigmented that one swipe is enough. It’s got a smooth matte formula that sets within seconds of application. Available in varied vibrant and subtle shades.
My Experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Stay True:
The packaging is still the same as the old “Velvet Matte” range, only the bullet shape has changed. I don’t find this lipstick matte, but it’s like a matte stain. I can safely say that this lipstick is not at all creamy.
I think you will have to layer it up to achieve the desired color intensity. “Stay True” is a light plum-pink color and is on the blue-toned spectrum, and I love such plum lipsticks. I like it since it just settles into the lips like a stain and does not bleed or transfer. You will have to drag it a bit initially for it to smoothen up, but when you layer, it comes out as a nice plum-pink lipstick.
I don’t find it moisturising at all. I think women with dry lips will not enjoy wearing it though it lasts very long, 4-5 hours, but it does stain eventually.
This one stains a very bright hot pink color and it is very similar to the previous velvet matte lipsticks that I have reviewed. These lipsticks should be renamed as matte stains rather than labelling them as lipsticks.
Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Stay True:
- Pretty plum-pink color.
- The color can be built up as the pigment is intense.
- Nice bullet shape.
- Vast range of color.
Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Stay True:
- Stains badly, a bright hot pink color in this case.
- Not too smooth.
- Not really matte or velvety.
- They should be called stains, not lipsticks.
- Might seem to drag initially.
- Not ideal for dry lips.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Stay True?
This color is so beautiful but for the staining part, it is a big no from my side.
