Colorbar Windstar Emphaseyes Baked Eyeshadow Review

Hi lovely ladies,

For me, Colorbar is all about lip products. Whenever I visit the Colorbar counter, I get so involved in checking out their lipsticks that I totally ignore their other products. But finally, I made it a point to check out their eyeshadows, and I must say I was bowled over by their eyeshadow collection. They have loads of single eyeshadows but the merged baked eyeshadows caught my attention. They were so good to look at and I wanted to pick up a couple of shades, but unfortunately most of them were out of stock and I managed to get only one shade that I will be reviewing today – Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eyeshadow in the shade “Windstar.”

My Experience with Colorbar Windstar Emphaseyes Baked Eyeshadow:

Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked eyeshadow comes in an outer silver cardboard box that holds all the details pertaining to the product and a window to see the product color inside the box. The box opens to reveal the eyeshadow that comes in a silver pan with a transparent dome shaped lid to it. The name “Colorbar” is written across the lid and the shade name is mentioned on the bottom sticker of the pan. The transparent lid makes it easy to spot the eyeshadow shade in your makeup stash in case you have more than one shade. The lid closes securely with a click mechanism making it travel friendly. The shimmers in the eyeshadow get dislodged easily settling onto the edges of the pan making the packaging messy. It has no in-built mirror or applicator provided with it.

Windstar is a gorgeous brownish-lilac shade with a dash of pink. It is a shimmery eyeshadow with a generous amount of silver shimmer in it. It is a perfect color for fair to medium skin tones.  Though it is a shimmery eyeshadow, it doesn’t look over the top and you can easily carry out the shade even during the day time. You can see the pinkish tone of this eyeshadow once you have it on your eyelids and a pink lip will beautifully complement this eyeshadow.

The texture is smooth. Though it is a baked eyeshadow, the surface isn’t very hard, instead it is smooth enough to pick up the product easily and uniformly with a brush, sponge or even fingertips. The shimmer is not well packed, so you may have fall outs during application.  In case you want to reduce the fall outs, just use a flat eyeshadow brush and pack the color on your eyelids.  Don’t try blending the color with vigorous wiper washer motion because that will cause all the shimmer to fall out on your cheeks. So just pack on the color and if you want to blend, then do it very gently only on the crease area of the eyelid.

This eyeshadow has good pigmentation and a single swipe packs a solid dose of color on the lids contrary to the baked forms I have used before. Considering this to be a neutral shade, you can swipe on a few more layers to build on the intensity and make the color pop up. The shimmer in the eyeshadow is slightly gritty, but nevertheless, looks beautiful on the eyelids. You can apply an eye primer underneath the eyeshadow to make it appear more rich and vibrant.

This eyeshadow stays for a good 6-7 hours on my dry lids without any eye primer. It fades gradually without any creasing or fall outs on the face. On using an eye primer underneath, the color lasts for almost the entire day.

IMBB Rating:

Overall, Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eyeshadow in the shade “Windstar” is a gorgeous brownish lilac color with a hint of pink and loads of silvery shimmer in it. It has an amazing texture, pigmentation and staying power. But the fall out you experience during application can be a little disappointing. If you love shimmery eyeshadows, then you should definitely try this Emphaseyes eyeshadow- I’m sure you will love it!!!
