It’s getting really hot in Delhi these days! My heart goes out to all those people who have to travel and go out for work in this unbearable heat. This is when I realize how lucky I am to be working from home. Anyway, let us move on to the review. Today’s review is on a lip color by Coloréssence. This one too, is from the family of browns. I haven’t really used dark brown lippies earlier, but when I found this one on sale at an online shopping portal, I decided to grab it without thinking twice. So, does this lippie fulfil my expectations? Read on to find out!

My Experience with Coloressence 54 Dark Coffee Mesmerising Lip Color:

As per the protocol, let’s look at the packaging first. This lipstick too, comes in a black and silver case with the brand name written on the lid, in silver. The case comes along with an outer cardboard covering which has the ingredients list and product description mentioned. The lid shuts tightly with a click. The shade number and name are written at the bottom. Overall, the packaging is simple and sturdy. Coming to the fragrance, this lipstick has a mild floral scent, which is not too overpowering. In fact, it does not linger for long and disappears after a few minutes.

Coming to the texture of this lipstick, it is quite creamy and moisturizing. It does not leave my lips dry even after three or four hours. However, to be on the safe side, I always apply a lip balm underneath the lipstick. Pigmentation wise, this lipstick is quite good. One or two swipes are enough to cover your entire lips and hide all the pigmentation. This colour would definitely suit warm toned beauties, but I think it might suit cool toned beauties too. Of course, the colour is a bit dark, and personally, I’m not too comfortable wearing it.

However, I might end up using it regularly as I prefer browns to maroons I am not too happy with the staying power of this lipstick. It lasts for about three to three and a half hours on my lips without meals. I have tried wearing it on its own and also along with a lip liner. On both the occasions, the staying power has remained the same. Of course, in this case, I think the lip liner is faulty, too.

I have been using the Lotus Herbals Seduction Lip Contour Definer in Mocha Blast along with this lipstick. This lipstick also transfers onto cutlery. Another thing is that this lipstick tends to exaggerate fine lines. Hence, it is advisable to exfoliate your lips well prior to applying this lipstick.

No. I might select some light shades from the Premia collection. If you are a fan of dark browns, go for this one, else you could skip it. There’s nothing extraordinary about it.
