Coloressence Aqua Sindoor Review
Hi Everyone,

Indian tradition comes with a lot of rituals. One of them is the decorated hair partition of the newly-wed bride with vermilion. Well, not only do newly-wed brides like to ornate their hair, but for all married ladies, sindoor symbolizes the desire for husband’s longevity and good fortune.
I recently got married and like all “Punjabi” girls was fascinated by “chuda” and “sindoor.” I always wanted a bright red vermilion for myself; however, I couldn’t find a red liquid one in Lakme (though they say it comes in two colours, maroon and red), I found this sindoor online and ordered it. Please read on further to find out how it fared on my expectations.

Product Being Reviewed:
Coloressence Aqua Sindoor.
Product Claims and Ingredients:
I don’t really understand why only active ingredients have been listed, are there some inactive ones as well???
Price/Packaging/Quantity:
INR 85 for 6 ml. It comes in a transparent glass bottle with a sturdy applicator which has a sponge tip. The packaging is sturdy as well as elegant. Also, the applicator wand is quite nice which picks out just the right amount of liquid.
My Take on Coloressence Aqua Sindoor:
I have mentioned in the beginning that I wanted a bright red sindoor for myself; however, this one turned out to be more orange. The consistency is runny but since we apply with an applicator, it stays put on the forehead and dries within 30 seconds of application. It dries to a matte finish. The staying power is quite impressive. I applied it in the morning and when I came to bed at night, it was still intact. To check its efficacy, I even put my hand with the swatch under water and it did not smudge at all. Please check the pictures below for reference.
I did not feel any kind of sensation with its application nor did I notice any other change on my skin. With a makeup remover, it came off easily. I really liked the product sans the colour. I am still on the lookout for a bright red liquid sindoor. If anyone can suggest an option, I shall be glad.
Summing the pros and cons:
Pros of Coloressence Aqua Sindoor:
- Sturdy and elegant packaging.
- Applicator is quite nice.
- Reasonably priced.
- Staying power is commendable which is more than 10-12 hours.
- It is also waterproof.
- Did not cause any irritation on the skin.
Cons of Coloressence Aqua Sindoor:
- The colour according to the pack is “red” but it turns out to be more orange.
- Why only the active ingredients have been mentioned, what about the inactive ones?
Will I Repurchase Coloressence Aqua Sindoor?
No, this will last me a long time and anyway I don’t really like to put orange sindoor.
IMBB Rating:
4/5 (the product as such is great , -1 due to the contradictory name and content).
