Coloressence Lipstick in 213 Coral Sand Review

Coloressence Lipstick in 213 Coral Sand

Hi everyone,

I will be reviewing a lip colour today. I got it as a free gift with one of my purchases. I have used it only a few times but I can satisfactorily pen down a review for it. Please read on further to find out how this freebie turned out to be.

Ingredients: Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Coriander and Basil extracts. No other ingredients mentioned.

Product Claims: A unique combination of coriander and basil extract. This lip color protects, moisturizes and is hypoallergenic. Voluminise the lips.

Price: I think around 150 INR for 4 gms

Packaging: It comes in a sturdy black lipstick case. The cap clicks shut with a sound ensuring it won’t open when put inside the bag. The name and the number is pasted at the bottom of the case. I do not like such bland packaging; I like my vanity case to appear bright and classy. Also it is very difficult to remember the shade and the number. The name for instance does not go at all with the shade in question. It is nowhere close to coral/peach.

My take on Coloressence Lipstick in 213 Coral Sand:

I will start with something which bothers me the most in this lipstick and that is the smell. It has a sweet smell to it which is generic to these low priced lipsticks. I completely detest fragrances in lipsticks so this one is a major turn off for me. As far as the shade goes, it is a pink shade with a teeny bit of frost in it. You need to swipe it atleast 4 times for the colour to show off. My friend who has pigmented lips applied it a number of times because I wanted to capture the colour in my camera and the shade was not showing out despite repeated swipes. Also the texture is waxy, it does not feel creamy at all and I and my friend felt that our lips were being tugged when we were applying it. On my fair skin the shade looked better but nothing which I would not find in some other brand. It stays on for a good 5-6 hours, yes that is the best part about this lipstick. It does not bleed or smudge but transfers easily. It gives a semi matte finish after some time.

Pros of Coloressence Lipstick in 213 Coral Sand:

1. Staying power is very good.
2. Travel friendly packaging.

Cons of Coloressence Lipstick in 213 Coral Sand:

1. The strong outburst of fragrance bothers me.
2. The name is misleading. The baby pink shade is nowhere close to coral.
3. It tugs/pulls my lips while application.
4. Does not cover pigmented lips.
5. Needs a lot of swipes for the actual colour to show off.
6. Waxy texture.
7. Lip balm underneath is a must, it feels drying after some time.

Will I repurchase or recommend Coloressence Lipstick 213 Coral Sand?

No, for both. I feel Elle 18 lipsticks which are in the same price range are much better than this and I am anyways addicted to my Colorbar Creme Touch and Soft Touch Lipsticks 😛 so I would never repurchase this.
