Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color – 21 Misty Maroon
Hello All!
I’ve used a couple of Coloressence products before and they turned out to be okay. But I had never tried out anything from their range of lipsticks. I do own a lip gloss and I found it to be a value for money product. So, when I needed a maroon lipstick for a specific occasion, I ordered a shade called Misty Maroon. Now, I know lipsticks are not supposed to be purchased online, it must be tested and verified and approved in proper daylight, at proper stores. But, I hate the rains and it has been pouring cats and dogs at my end. So, I ordered it. Read on to know how I found it to be.
Price:
Rs150 for 4g.
Product Description:
A unique combination of coriander and basil extract. This lip color nourishes, protects, moisturises and is hypoallergenic. Voluminise the lips.
Ingredients:
Almond oil, Vitamin E. Nothing else is mentioned either on the website or on the product.
My Experience with Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Misty Maroon:
The packaging is pretty decent for the price. It has a black and silver case which looks okay, nothing fancy. The lipstick has the generic smell that low-end lipsticks have, not overwhelming, just a faint smell, which won’t stay when you apply the lipstick on your pouts. The lipstick when in bullet appears to be a rich shade of maroon, very royal, very regal, apt to be worn to weddings or such. It has very subtle silver glitters, which would go unnoticed by unsuspecting eyes. However, when you apply it on your lips, the colour is anything but maroon. The colour fails to show before eight to nine swipes . And even when it starts to show, it is only a pinkish tint, nothing maroon. Also, the lipstick is very hard, not at all creamy, I had to practically rub it against my lips for the lipstick to show. Also, the lipstick is extremely drying. The promise of moisturizing is all hogwash for this particular shade. You cannot forego moisturizing your lips at all. Had the lipstick not been so drying, I might have thought about using it as a tinted balm. But my Nivea lip balm, the one in cherry flavour does a better job of both, moisturizing and giving a pinkish tint to my lips. So, why on earth would I want to get this lipstick? This shade is a big no for me and I won’t recommend it to anyone, either.
Pros of Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Misty Maroon:
• Cheap.
• Hypoallergenic.
• Sturdy case, travel-friendly.
• The colour, as sheer it may be will look good on all skin tones.
Cons of Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Misty Maroon:
• Does not moisturize.
• Not at all creamy.
• This shade is very sheer, and about seven to eight swipes are required for the color to show
• The name contains the word maroon, which is misleading.
• Not good for pigmented lips.
IMBB Rating:
1.5/5
Will I Repurchase Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Misty Maroon?
No. The lipstick is too drying, sheer and hard for my liking. But I’ve heard that some of the other shades have fared better, so I might check them out.
