How was your weekend? I hope it went well. Mine was a lot of fun as I had a wedding to attend. Recently, I did a bit of makeup shopping online, and there, I came across Coloressence Pearl Effect Eyeshadow Pencil. I have used one lipstick from Coloressence which was good for its price. I am not a pro in applying eye shadow, so I always prefer pencils over them and since this is an eyeshadow in a pencil form, I bought it.
Rs. 165 for 2.25 gm.
There is nothing written on the pencil, but the site says:
- Provides rich colour coverage.
- Easy to apply and blend.
- Crease-proof, fade-proof and smudge-proof.
My Take on Coloressence Pearl Effect Eyeshadow Pencil in Plum Pink:
First things first, this one is a gorgeous colour. It is a beautiful plum pink with lots of shimmer which looks very fancy and festive. I have many sarees from the pink family and this will go with all of them, and that was one of the reasons I bought this shade 🙂
The texture is very creamy, which makes it glide smoothly on my eyelids. It is very pigmented, you will get a good color payoff in one swipe itself. Though the site claims that this is smudge proof, but with this creamy texture, it is very easy to smudge it and create any look that you want. I use it as an eye pencil mostly and even tried it all over my eyelid once, and it looks good in both the ways. Because of the shimmer, I feel it is not apt to be worn everyday or during the day time, it is good for night time events and festivals, but its up to the individual how one would want to use it.
The staying power is just 2 hours at the maximum if applied alone on my oily eyelids, but when used with an eye primer, it stays longer, 4 hours maximum. Once the colour fades, it leaves the shimmer behind, which can look good to some and bad to a few. It is easy to remove with any makeup remover, doesn’t leave any stains. On the whole, it is a decent product for its price.
Pros of Coloressence Pearl Effect Eyeshadow Pencil in Plum Pink:
- Good colour payoff.
- Nice colour with lots of shimmer.
- Decent staying power when used along with a primer.
- Smooth texture.
- Eye shadow in a pencil form, so its easy to carry it around.
Cons of Coloressence Pearl Effect Eyeshadow Pencil in Plum Pink:
- No ingredients mentioned.
- No shelf life mentioned.
- Matte eyeshadow lovers would feel that its very shimmery.
- Availability can be an issue.
- Bad staying power when used without a primer.
Final Verdict on Coloressence Pearl Effect Eyeshadow Pencil in Plum Pink:
This is a lovely pink colour with shimmer, gives good pigmentation, has average staying power and comes in pencil packing which makes it easy to use for beginners. For this price, you can give it a try. Ditch it if missing ingredients list and no expiry date mentioned bothers you.
